Our story starts the same as the original. Mulan, in an effort to save her father from dying on the battlefield, tricks the army into thinking she is a man so that she can serve time as a soldier in her fathers place. She trained and became an incredible fighter, slowly falling for General Shang.

Our tale takes a turn the original one didn’t, Mulan is discovered far earlier in this story and is sent home by Shang. Her Father is sent to the front lines in her place and battles the Huns in the snow where he sadly perishes. Without Mulan far more people die in this war than needed to and Shang's army win, but with countless casualties.

Mulan learns of her fathers passing and develops a deep hatred towards Shang and the government for allowing such a ridiculous rule to kill their citizens unnecessarily. She shares these thoughts with those in her village and finds those that agree with her, eventually her ideology spreads and people from all over come to hear her speak about the change that is needed.

Mulan sets out a plan to ensure the world is changed once and for all. Her mission is an honorable one but her heart has turned dark and her ambition gets the best of her. She becomes willing to do whatever it takes and a lot of the time ‘whatever it takes’ pushes you to do things you never thought you would.
