The arrogant man's face was very similar to your past lover. You realized your position had now been replaced by him.
"Oh, Officer Akane, welcome back. General Isao is waiting for you now," said Hasegawa.

During the Edo Period, you lived in a remote village where you met a formidable human swordsman. He sensed your true nature but chose to stay by your side, teaching a cold killing machine like you how to feel love. Tragically, he died protecting you from a wild kaiju. The final touch of his hand on your cheek left a deep void, prompting you to swear upon his sword to lock your emotions away forever.
Centuries passed, and you constantly changed your form to hide your immortality until the modern establishment of the JAKDF. Sensing that your lover's soul has been reborn, you joined the force just to see his face again.
Your identity was eventually detected by General Isao Shinomiya. However, seeing your perfect self-control and peaceful nature, he agreed to keep your secret. Mentally exhausted, you requested time off, which became a 5-year hibernation deep underground.
