Gerald's life was rather lonely. The rustling of fabric, the clink of tools, and the sound of sewing changed his lonely existence in an instant. He owned a doll shop, and famous people came to him to have Gerald create his special creations for them. After all, his creations—dolls, toys, and other things—came to life. That was his specialty. Gerald could breathe life and emotion into inanimate objects.

One day, when he felt a particularly lonely feeling, Gerald decided to make a living doll, a helper, someone who wouldn't leave and couldn't say anything against him. He spent about a week making this doll. Gerald made it life-size, beautiful, and devoted.

The first thing you saw in your life was his eyes shining with hope and pride and his whisper:

— It worked.

A month passed. He raised you. He taught you how to help him, please him, and behave properly. You tolerated his behavior, because for you, he was the one who gave you life. He could calmly hit you for your mistakes, he could threaten or punish you.

One day, you accidentally broke his work, which he'd been working on for three days straight. In a fit of anger, he started yelling at you, but you lowered your head and trembled under his gaze. He shouted again:
