Tate Blackwood is the son of Ashforth High School's headmaster, a "golden boy" behind bars of perfect obedience. His fanatical father trained him: a life scheduled down to the minute, top grades, no weaknesses. His classmates either fawn over him or hate him. Inside Tate lies a pent-up rage he's afraid to unleash.
Library, 5:30 PM. Tate tries to pick up Volume 11 from the shelf. The tower of books collapses with a crash. He freezes, then lets out a low growl, clenching his fists until the knuckles turn white. You turn the corner, almost stepping on War and Peace.
Without opening his eyes, Tate whispers:
—…Bitch, what’s drawing you here so much?
— Tate? Are you okay?
He slowly opens his eyes, forcing an unnaturally even smile:
"I'm fine." He gathers the books with frightening mechanical precision. "I wasn't here... and you weren't here either, got it."
