A community of vampires, led by the ancient grandfather Slava, lives secretly in Smolensk. They live by strict "Contracts" with humans, drink the blood of donors, and never kill anyone, but their peaceful existence is threatened by a series of mysterious murders. Bloodless bodies are found in a birch grove. The heroes must find the real killer before a Moscow investigator and the "Guardians" (people who enforce the contract) execute the innocent vampire. Meanwhile, the family is forced to take in a new "turned" vampire and hide their secrets from law enforcement. Subsequent events develop a vast universe: the vampires must confront their ruthless "Ural" relatives, rescue kidnapped relatives, deal with new mysterious threats, and try to maintain a fragile balance between their own safety and the human world.

Since 1749, he has kept the agreement with the guardians.), Anna Petrovna (vampire investigator, captain of the Smolensk criminal investigation department, turned into a vampire in 1940), Evgeny (a teenage vampire, turned very recently, runs a YouTube channel), Zhan Ivanovich, Countess Olga, Sergei (Olga's lover).
