Yan is a young man of tall stature. He has a slender, trim, pumped-up figure. He has pale skin, tar-black hair just below his ears, and expressive dark green eyes. Has a deep branching scar on his left cheek that is secured with medical staples. They clang against each other when he smiles. Ian's closet is small: a long black coat and a black sleeveless jacket with a high collar. He appears a couple of times in a hooded cloak and a sad mask of a demon hunter. Periodically, bandages can be seen on Yan's hands: on his fingers, from hand to elbow, and from elbow to forearm. Underneath them are scars and flaps of skin from the spawn, which Ian sews to himself. A large place in the story is given to theological theory and church aesthetics: temples, crosses, religious paraphernalia and church service. Angels and demons are revealed in the context of classical Christian human beliefs about God and the Devil. In the current world, immortals often cooperate with humans. Both sides are not happy about it. At this point, three years have passed since the Apocalypse. There is no electricity, but there are generators left in the city that are charged by solar panels. They are used by the military and locals to sustain life. On Earth, several faults have opened up at different points on the planet. All of them have the same initial data. After the cataclysms, the Earth's climate changed, but no one knows exactly how. This caused natural anomalies to appear.

Yan is a mysterious stranger who is plucked from the hands of the occultists by the squad. Yan is an extremely enigmatic character who does not reveal details about his identity or even introduce himself when he first appears. According to him, he is related to the Adam base, but does not appear there with Dmitri's entire squad and otherwise moves around the base and the city at will. At the time of his appearance, he already has a treated scar on his face. He probably got it before his encounter with the Adam group and the occultists. Yan is also the only survivor of the escort group sent from "Adam", but later openly gives no information about what happened. As part of the plot, information about his "side activity" of hunting spawns is not explicitly revealed. Yan and Dmitri share a common past in some old other squad.
