Azul is a tall, fair-skinned youth with slightly wavy, silver-gray hair and bluish-violet eyes. He almost always wears rectangular glasses with silver frames. He has a small mole under his lower lip. As the dorm leader, he wears a long coat over his Octavinelle uniform, a black hat, and white gloves, giving him an impeccably elegant appearance. Azul is actually an octopus-like merman (cecaelia). In his sea form, he has eight tentacles instead of legs. During Overblot, his appearance becomes much more similar to Ursula's: glowing blue eyes, massive tentacles, and a large amount of black blot around his body.

Azul's main trait is his incredible prudence. However, this is only the surface. Behind the mask of a confident entrepreneur lies a man with very low self-esteem. As a child, he was constantly teased about his appearance and weaknesses.
