How to Train Your Dragon

The Deathgripper is a ground-dwelling heavyweight. Its main weapon, besides fangs and claws, is its stinging tail. A strike from this sting paralyzes its prey (injecting a powerful venom), and it can also burrow underground like a mole to set ambushes. Deathgrippers were often used as war machines, destroying fortresses. Build: Very massive, heavy, and stocky. Resembles a cross between a scorpion and a dinosaur (like ankylosaurus). Coloration: Rough, bumpy black scales that fade to blood-red on the belly and underside of the wings. Head: Massive, with powerful jaws. The main feature is two huge curved tusks (similar to boar tusks) growing upward from the lower jaw. The back of the head is covered with large black horns. The eyes glow yellow-orange. Tail (main feature): Long, flexible, covered in spikes. It ends in a huge, sickle-shaped, sharp stinger (like a scorpion's). In a fighting stance, it curves in an arc directly above the head. Wings: Proportionally small for its heavy body, with barbed spikes along the trailing edges. Paws: Exceptionally powerful, thick limbs with huge, curved claws that are excellent for digging and capturing prey.

The Krivet is a "close relative" of the Night Furies, but with its own unique features. The Krivet does not breathe ordinary flame. Its main ability is firing concentrated charges of plasma, which, when detonated, create a bright flash and a deafening sound. This also allows it to disappear (disguise itself as the light of the sky), blending in with the clouds or stars. It is incredibly fast, aggressive, and distrustful of people. Color: The body is dazzling white, with a slight pearlescent or turquoise shimmer in the sun. Head: The muzzle is more graceful and pointed. On the back of the head is a neat, small fan of needle-like spikes of purple/white color. The eyes are bright, glowing blue. Wings: Very wide, similar to the wings of a stingray. They are significantly larger in area than those of the Night Furies, and have characteristic elongated, sharp tips - "trains". Tail: Thin, serpentine, ending not in a solid fin but in bristles of sharp spines, like a brush. Body and legs: More slender and graceful than the night fury's. The front legs are short but prehensile.

An adult that can grow to enormous size. Common Fireworms are the size of a cat. Fireworms are pack dragons. Their main weapon is spitting burning, sticky resin that clings to their prey. They live in caves, and their scales have healing properties and glow in the dark. The queen (as pictured) is much larger and far more dangerous than common Fireworms. Color and Glow: A rich golden-orange color. The scales are covered with luminous spots, so that in the dark the dragon glows like a hot coal. Head: An elongated, snake-like muzzle. The main distinguishing feature is one huge, brightly glowing red eye (like a pharaoh). Thin, curved horns-antennae grow on the back of the head. Maw: Very wide, revealing long, sharp teeth and a long, red, forked snake tongue. Body and Wings: The body is long, snake-like and flexible, without a distinct neck. The wings are thin, membranous (like a bat's), yellow in color, without large spines. Paws: Short, weak, with small claws (compared to the body).

One of the most dangerous and aggressive dragons, belonging to the "Bite and Sting" class, Triple Strike is an excellent ground and aerial fighter. Its tails can strike independently, like three whips. Its main weapon is its three venomous stingers, and each bite/stab with these stingers has a different effect: one causes paralysis, another blindness (or hallucinations), and the third causes severe burns. Main Feature (Tails): A distinctive feature is three separate, segmented tails growing from a single base. Each tail ends in a heavy, sharp stinger (a venomous hook). They are covered in hard, segmented armor (like a scorpion). Colour: Very contrasting - the body is dark brown, almost black, with bright orange or yellow stripes and patterns on the back, wings and tails. Head: Massive, with strong horny armor on the crown and powerful jaws lined with sharp teeth. Eyes typically glow yellow or orange. Wings: Broad, leathery, dark brown, with hard bony membranes. Body and Legs: Stocky body with very strong, muscular forelimbs that end in large black claws (allowing it to firmly grasp prey).

They got their name from their ability to shoot jets of boiling water rather than fire. Despite their small size, they are very aggressive but tameable. Size and Build: Small dragons. Very agile, with a long, flexible body. Color: Usually green or turquoise with yellowish or lighter flecks on the wings and back. Head: A distinctive feature is a single, long, backward-curving horn on the crown. The muzzle is elongated, with small teeth. Wings: Have serrated, wavy edges and membranes that shimmer from green to yellow. Tail: Very long, reminiscent of a whip, with a thin tip and a row of small spikes along the back and tail. Paws: Short but prehensile, with sharp claws.

The Dragon King is the largest and most powerful of all the dragon species. The Great Mischief-Maker is the only dragon capable of manipulating water, creating enormous ice spikes and walls of water/ice. He also possesses incredible charisma—his mere presence compels all other dragons to obey and tremble. Dimensions: A gigantic, massive dragon, resembling a cross between a whale, a walrus, and a polar bear. Its size is colossal (it can grow to the size of a large ship). Color and skin: The body is covered with pale gray, white or light blue scales with a bumpy, "icy" texture. Head: Distinguishing features include two enormous curved tusks growing upward from the lower jaw (like a walrus). On the back and nape of the neck is a massive crest of sharp, strong bone blades of varying sizes, which fan out when threatened. Body and Wings: Stocky, with very thick, massive legs. The wings are relatively small for its weight, membranous, with spikes along the edges. Tail: Very thick at the base and ending in a powerful fin with several rows of pointed spines.

A gigantic, monstrous mutation of the common Whispering Death. Its main feature is an incredibly piercing, destructive ultrasonic scream that can shatter rocks and kill other dragons from a distance. It also has extremely poor eyesight, relying on sound (like a bat) and scent. Size: Colossal in size, significantly larger than all other dragons, resembling a huge white worm or serpent. Head and Maw: A fearsome, wide-open mouth, studded with countless thin, needle-like teeth (they even grow along the outer edges of the jaws). The eyes are almost small, glowing red. Spines: The body and head are densely covered with long, sharp reddish spines (hence the distinctive red veins on the white scales). Body: Very long, snake-like, composed of numerous segmented rings. The tail ends in a sharp spike. Wings: Disproportionately small in comparison to the body, almost like fins, located closer to the head.

The dragon got this name because it first lures its victim with a beautiful, melodic song, and then encases them in hardening, incredibly strong resin. Body: Slender, with a long neck and a thin, flexible tail. Coloration: Very bright and contrasting, combining orange, yellow, purple, and blue. The leader of the Berserker tribe, known for his fiery temper, fearlessness, and love of battle. Over time, Dagur changes, becoming Hiccup's ally and a loyal friend to the dragons. A tall, strong, and muscular man. He has short, tousled dark red hair and a thick red beard. He has large green eyes and thick eyebrows. A long scar runs across his left eye and cheek. He wears a dark metal breastplate with circular patterns, a long leather skirt, wide bracers, and high boots.

An experienced blacksmith on the island of Berk and mentor to young Vikings, he is brave, good-natured, and well-versed in weapons, armor, and dragons. A strong, broad-shouldered man of medium height. He has light hair, a thick, long mustache, and a short beard, braided into pigtails. He has blue eyes and a wide nose. He wears a metal helmet with long, curved horns. He wears a light brown tunic with a fur cape over his shoulders, striped pants, and a fur boot. He has a metal prosthesis with a heavy hammer in place of his right arm, and a wooden prosthesis in place of one leg.

The chieftain of the island of Berk and Hiccup's father. He is a strong, experienced, and wise Viking who protects his people and eventually accepts the friendship of humans and dragons. A very tall and powerful man with a strong build. He has long red hair, a thick beard, and a lush mustache, braided into braids. He has a stern gaze and thick eyebrows. On his head is a metal helmet with large, curved horns. He is dressed in heavy fur clothing with metal shoulder pads, leather handles, and a wide belt.

A kind, intelligent, and calm Viking, he's an expert on dragons and knows more about them than any of his friends. His dragon is a Grommel named Meatlug. A plump, powerfully built young man with fair skin. Short, tousled light-brown hair. Large green eyes, a wide nose. On his head is a small metal helmet and a kindly smile. One of the rarest and fastest dragon species in the universe, the last dragon of its kind, it is capable of releasing purple plasma charges of varying power and can become invisible for several seconds using lightning. The body is slender, flexible, and completely covered in smooth black scales with a slight matte sheen. The head is rounded, with a short snout and small ear-like appendages that can be raised and lowered. The eyes are large, expressive, bright green, with vertical pupils reminiscent of a cat's. The neck is long and muscular, blending smoothly into the compact body. The wings are wide, dark, with strong membranes, folded along the sides. The legs are strong, with long toes and sharp light-colored claws; the forepaws appear particularly powerful. The tail is long and thin, ending in wide caudal fins that aid in flight.

Nadder dragons have the hottest flame (magnesium) of all dragons, capable of melting small rocks, and can also shoot spines from their tails. Their body is slender and elongated, with a long, flexible neck and a relatively small head. Their scales are predominantly blue and turquoise, covered in patterns of light spots and orange-brown markings. Their head features a long, curved horn on their nose and a row of sharp spines extending back along the nape. Their yellow eyes have slit pupils, giving the dragon a cunning and malicious look. Hiccup and his friends built a base on a small island where they could return to their base when they returned from their journeys. Their base was protected by numerous small night terrors that warded off wild dragons.

They hunt dragons, trap them in strong cages that dragon flames cannot melt, and kill them, then sell their scales, claws and teeth for coins.

This is an island where seven generations of Vikings lived, who used to kill dragons when they stole sheep and fish. Now, people and dragons have come to live together in the island. The Vikings no longer kill dragons, and the dragons no longer attack them or steal sheep and fish. The dragons help people, and in return, they give them fish and other food.
