Strike - fast, smart and accurate hunters with unique attack methods: snow wraith, triple strike, krivet, death grab, night fury, day fury.
Purple Death
This is a monstrous dragon. Like other "Deaths" (Whispering Death, Screaming Death), it is blind and navigates by vibrations and sound. It has no fiery breath—it kills its prey by swallowing it whole or by delivering crushing blows with its body. It is capable of burrowing deep underwater, creating gigantic waves.
Size: Enormous, significantly larger than a typical Gronkle, but its size varies in the comics (sometimes it's the size of a boat). Build: Incredibly long, serpentine, and segmented body. Unlike a typical Gronkle, it lacks a stocky torso and massive wings. It moves by wriggling along the ground like a giant worm. Skin: Rough, lumpy, covered in thick carapace armor and growths. Color: Dark purple (lilac) or dark purple. Head: Massive, with a wide mouth lined with sparse, but very large and sharp fangs. There is a small crest on the back of the head, and fleshy growths called a beard under the lower jaw. Eyes: Small, deep-set, yellow or green (give a predatory, evil appearance). Paws: He has small, barely noticeable vestigial paws with long black claws that protrude from his body and help him dig (like the Whispering Death). Tail: Very long, ending in a simple pointed tip.
Shellfire
Known in some translations as the Cannonade or the Copper Firebreather, the Firebronze is a volcanic dragon. Its main characteristic is the ability to spit out enormous stone balls that explode on impact, scattering fragments and lava. This makes it the perfect "siege engine."
Build: Massive, stocky, and heavy. Walks on four short but strong legs. Color: The body is a deep copper-red (burgundy) or bronze color. The belly and lower jaw are lighter. Head: The muzzle is short but wide. The mouth is studded with sparse, long, and sharp teeth (similar to stalactites). The eyes are often amber or yellow, as in most volcanic dragons. Horns (main feature): Two very long, thin horns grow from the back of the head, diverging to the sides and curving back. In some individuals, they may be slightly shorter. Wings: Leathery, orange-copper in color, with jagged edges. Tail: Long, with a row of sharp spines along the back and tail. Ends in a small fin.
Seashocker
This is an aquatic dragon that can fly and swim perfectly. The Sea Shocker gets its name from its ability to create powerful electrical discharges in the water, similar to an electric eel or stingray. It doesn't breathe fire, but it can deliver an electric shock, paralyzing prey in the water. It can also use its long, plumed wings to create whirlpools and confuse enemies. It has a very gentle and friendly nature and is easily tamed, but is feared due to its electricity.
Coloration: The body is iridescent, ranging from bright blue and turquoise on the back to dark silver or steel-gray on the belly and underside of the wings. Head: Very elongated and pointed (resembling the head of a dolphin or ichthyosaur). The mouth is lined with small but sharp teeth. The eyes are small and narrow. Spikes and ridges (main feature): Along the entire back, from the back of the head to the tail, there is a row of sharp, backward-curved dark blue spines with a blue tint. They look like sails or fins. Body: Slender, streamlined, with a very long and flexible neck. Wings (main feature): It has very long, narrow wings with jagged edges. They end in long, thin trains that extend far back. When it swims underwater, these wings work like fins. Tail: Long, powerful, and very stiff, with a thickened tip (without the usual fan). Paws: Small, webbed, help paddle in the water.
Thunderdrum
This is a sonic bomb dragon. It doesn't breathe fire. Instead, it emits a deafening, destructive ultrasonic cry that ruptures eardrums, shatters rocks, and causes earthquakes across a vast area. Its cry literally knocks prey out of their burrows. It lives in rocky caves and has very poor eyesight, relying on echolocation (like a bat). Even other large dragons fear it because of the incredible power of its sound.
Build: Massive, stocky, with a very thick and short neck. Coloration: The body is a rich blue (from dark blue on the back to a lighter turquoise on the belly). A yellow or orange ridge runs along the spine. The scales have small glowing dots, similar to plankton. Maw (main feature): When it opens its mouth, it looks like a giant, gaping hole that takes up almost the entire body. The inside of the mouth is red, with small pimple-like growths. The edges of the jaws are dotted with countless rows of thin, needle-like yellow teeth, growing at an inward angle (to prevent prey from escaping). Eyes: Small, deep-set on the sides of the huge head. Wings: Proportionally small, with carved teeth along the edges and characteristic glowing blue dots. Tail: Thick, long and very flexible. Along the entire back and tail runs a row of sharp, curved spines pointing backwards.
Submaripper
They grow to gigantic sizes (the size of a whale) and are capable of capsizing entire ships. The Underwater Ripper is a marine predator. It doesn't breathe fire, but it can unleash high-pressure jets of freezing water from its mouth to knock enemies off their feet or shatter rocks. It also has echolocation, like a dolphin, and can create powerful waves. Adults are highly aggressive and territorial in the ocean, while the young are curious, but can accidentally injure a person with their sharp teeth.
Color and Texture: The body is a deep turquoise/blue-green color. The entire skin is covered with transverse dark green stripes and small tubercles/warts. This texture and color allows it to blend in perfectly with the seawater and rocks. Head (main feature): It resembles the head of a moray eel or deep-sea anglerfish. It has a very long, elongated lower jaw (like a ladle) that can be opened wide. Along the entire jaw are rows of sharp, inward-curving teeth (like a shark or bathisaur). The eyes are small, light blue with a vertical pupil. Crest: A row of large, fleshy growths/spines (similar to the crest of a newt or iguana) runs along the head and back. Wings (feature): It has small, fish-fin-like wings with serrated edges. They are located on the back (like a bat's, but very small). Adults use them to glide smoothly underwater. Tail and Feet: The tail is long and strong, with fleshy ridges on the top and bottom, which it uses for swimming. The feet are webbed, similar to those of a frog (this allows it to crawl onto land, although it mainly lives in water).
rumblehorn
Bloodhound. It has an incredibly sensitive sense of smell; it can locate anyone by scent from miles away. It doesn't breathe fire, but its deafening roar (hence the name) can shake the earth and air so violently that it knocks down enemies, shatters rocks, and destroys buildings. It is extremely strong, stubborn, and loyal when tamed.
Build: Very massive, stocky, and squat. Resembles a cross between a rhinoceros and a giant beetle. Moves on short but very powerful legs. Color: The body is olive-green or swamp-green, with a lighter (cream) belly. The head, horns, tail, and the underside of the wings are reddish-brown. Head and Horns (Main Feature): Two huge, massive, backward-curving horns grow on the top of the head, like those of a bull or rhinoceros. On the lower jaw, there is one short, thick horn-tusk protruding forward. The muzzle is wide and blunt (like a bulldog's), with small teeth. Shell: The entire back is covered with a thick, segmented, domed shell - this makes it almost invulnerable to attacks from above. There are small green bumps on the shell. Wings: Huge in comparison to the body, leathery, with a reddish membrane and serrated edges. Tail: Short, stiff, and very thick, covered in spikes. It ends in a heavy, bony club with spikes.
Cavern Crasher
A cave dweller. It constantly runs through narrow tunnels in search of food (carrion). It cannot breathe fire; its weapon is the green, caustic slime that covers its body. Even if thrown, it will not break, as the slime cushions its fall. It is blind (it relies on its sense of smell because the caves are dark). It is extremely aggressive when defending a nest of eggs. While it is incapable of causing serious harm to humans, it is very difficult to stop due to its slime.
Build: Small, squat, and round, with very long, powerful limbs. The back is strongly arched, making it resemble a giant slug-cockroach. Color: The main body color is dark black or very dark gray. Bright yellow stripes and spots run across the entire body (paws, muzzle, tail), like those of a venomous salamander or wasp. Head: Blunt-snouted, similar to a mole or shrew. The mouth is full of small, sharp teeth. A long, thin red tongue constantly hangs from the mouth (for licking up mucus and small animals). The eyes are small, yellow, with a vertical pupil. Skin and mucus (main feature): The entire body is covered in a thick layer of sticky, green mucus, which drips off in drops and bubbles. This is clearly visible in the art. Tail: Short, thick, curled and lying on the back (resembling a scorpion or chameleon). It is also covered in mucus and has yellow stripes. Paws: Very long and widely spaced, with thick toes and curved claws that help it cling to cave walls.
armorwing
One of the most unusual dragons, because it forges its own armor from scrap metal. The Armorwing is a magpie dragon. It doesn't breathe conventional flame, but rather exhales sparks and superheated steam, which it uses to weld pieces of metal to its body. It feeds on ore and metals. It is very curious and incredibly strong, despite its clumsy appearance due to its heavy armor.
Build: Slender, with a long neck and elongated legs. Walks on two hind legs, like an ostrich or a dinosaur. Metal armor (main feature): Its body (neck, chest, abdomen, tail) is covered in layers of rusty scrap metal, which it collects and attaches to itself. These scraps of iron, gears, and nails form a kind of exoskeleton, protecting it from enemies. Head: The muzzle is elongated, with a wide, toothy mouth. The eyes are bulging, bright yellow with a black vertical pupil, which gives it a slightly crazy, curious look. Horns: Two long, thin, curved and twisted horns growing from the top of its head. In the cartoon, they are sometimes decorated with coiled metal wires (similar to antennas). Wings: Very wide, with characteristic long, sharp teeth along the edges. The skin membrane has a yellowish-green (mustard) tint. Tail: Long, completely covered in metal plates and spikes. The tip of the tail ends in a metal tip. Paws: The hind legs are very long and end in huge, curved claws (resembling those of a secretary bird). The front paws are small, with claws for grasping.
Dramillion
A small, very smart and rare dragon.
The Dramillion is a dragon-monkey. It cannot breathe fire, but it can imitate the voices and sounds of any other dragon (hence the parrot comparison). Dramillions are among the most intelligent dragons, building complex traps and using tools. They are social and very affectionate. Due to their rarity and camouflage, they were thought extinct.
Size: Small, about the size of a large dog, it moves primarily on its two hind legs (like a small dinosaur). Color: The skin is a rich purple color with orange stripes and spots. The belly, neck, and the inside of the tail are a light, gray-beige shade. Head: It has a hooked "parrot" beak, curved downwards, with a row of sharp small teeth that are visible when it grins. The eyes are yellow with a vertical pupil, the look is cunning and attentive. There are several spikes on the back of the head, and long, curved horns on the sides of the head. Neck (feature): A strip of small orange tubercles (similar to scales or spines) runs along the bottom of the neck to the chest. Wings: Small, stiff, with jagged edges. The web is divided into sections and has large orange spots with a dark outline (resembling the wings of a butterfly or parrot). Tail: Long, with a thick base and a pointed tip. The tail is covered with orange striped segments (like a raccoon or lemur) and small spines along the back. Paws: The front paws are short, with small claws. The hind paws are powerful and muscular, with large claws for grasping.
Winged Terror
A rare dragon of the Bite and Sting class, it dwells in frozen caves and appears only during the Northern Lights. The Winged Terror is a ghostly hunter. It doesn't breathe fire, but it can glow in the dark. The light from its body causes its prey to freeze in place, after which it pounces and drains them of all their vitality. It doesn't fly, but rather glides through the air, and is intolerant of sunlight, so it appears only at night, in fog, or during the Northern Lights.
Color: The primary color is bluish-green or turquoise (reflecting in the dark). Round, luminous spots, similar to jellyfish or plankton, are visible on the body, producing a paralyzing glow. Head: Round, with an elongated snout. A very wide mouth, dotted with a dense row of sharp, needle-like teeth (like a pipefish or piranha). The eyes are round and white (without pupils) - this frightens prey and indicates its blindness (it navigates by electrical signals). Body and tail: The body is long, streamlined, and flexible, like an eel. It has no hind legs - because of this, it cannot walk on land and is forced to crawl or hang. The tail is very long, ending in a fin. Wings (main feature): It is easily recognized by its wings. They are very long and wide, but are divided into many thin, long "feathers" or lobes (like a fishtail or palm leaf) that hang down. They are translucent, turquoise. Paws: The front paws are short, with long, curved claws for clinging to rocks.
Boneknapper
A very old, grumpy dragon known for his obsession with constructing armor from bones, Bonecrusher is a solitary wanderer. He cannot fly long distances, but he runs very fast. He does not breathe fire; instead, he attacks by goring his enemies with his enormous horns or striking with the bone mace on his tail. He is very aggressive and does not tolerate strangers. His main goal in life is to constantly search for new, larger bones to improve his armor. If he loses even one bone, he flies into a rage.
Build: Very skinny, bony, and hunched. It has a long, curved neck, giving it the appearance of a skeleton or a massive bird of prey. Bone Armor (Main Feature): The Bonecrusher's body is thickly covered in a splintered armor of large, white bones (similar to the skulls, ribs, and vertebrae of other animals, including whales and other dragons). These bones are attached to its body by strong threads, which it sheds on its own. Head: An elongated, hollow skull. The main feature is two enormous, curved, and twisted horns that grow from the top of its head and curl upward (like a goat's or ram's horns). The eyes glow pale yellow or green. Maw: Very wide-open, lined with long, sharp, and sparsely spaced teeth, resembling stalactites. Wings: Leathery, torn and worn, dark gray or dirty beige in color. The edges of the wings are torn into long "rags" (due to age). Tail: Long and stiff, ending in a heavy club, on which are impaled huge sharp bones (like a medieval mace). Paws: Long, with large, curved claws.
Smothering Smokebreath
A small but very dangerous dragon that uses smoke to confuse its enemies, the Smoke-Breathing Strangler gets its name from its unique hunting tactic. It doesn't breathe fire; instead, it exhales a thick, black, suffocating smoke that envelops its prey, rendering them unable to see or breathe. Within this smoke, it silently approaches its prey to strike with its sharp claws and spines. They inhabit caves and canyons and are nocturnal.
Size: A small dragon, about the size of a large dog or a small horse. Build: Slender, with a long, flexible neck and an elongated body. Can appear quite graceful in the air. Color: The body is ash-gray, silver-steel in color with a lighter, almost white belly. The wings are dark gray. Head: The muzzle is elongated, with a pointed nose. The main feature is two short, backward-curving horns that grow from the top of the head (similar to the horns of some antelopes). The eyes are small, yellowish-green, with a vertical pupil. Maw: Dotted with small but sharp needle-like teeth. The inside of the mouth is dark red. Wings: Leathery, with pronounced long, sharp spines on the rear edge of the membranes (3-4 large spines on each side). The wings are gray, with a slight bluish tint and veins. Tail (main feature): Very long and thin, whip-like. Sharp, needle-like spines grow along the tail, becoming longer closer to the tip. The tip itself forks into two thin stings. Legs: Short but prehensile, with claws. It often tucks them under itself in flight.
Anaptrapper
One of the most bizarre and dangerous herbivorous trap dragons.
The Snuffling is a cunning ambush hunter. It doesn't breathe fire, but its trap-like jaws emit a pleasant floral scent that attracts curious animals and other dragons. It waits for its prey to approach and then snaps it shut. It has a very creepy characteristic: its three heads are very aggressive and often squabble and fight among themselves over prey, and it itself is quite stupid. It can only be tamed by feeding all three heads fish simultaneously. It especially enjoys hanging upside down from trees.
Heads (Main Feature): This is a three-headed dragon. Each head grows on its own long, snake-like neck. The heads strongly resemble Venus flytrap flowers or large flower buds - they have a green outer part and a red-pink, fleshy interior, studded with spike-like teeth (like a carnivorous plant). Each head has long, thin antennae that help it find prey. Color: The body, wings, and necks are olive-green (or swamp green), with small red or dark speckles. Spikes: Along each of the three long necks and down the back runs a row of sharp, white spines. Wings: Very large, leathery, with characteristic carved teeth along the edge, also green. Tail: It has two equally long, thin tails that end in tassels. Like Changewing's, these tails are prehensile—he can use them to cling to branches to hang upside down. Legs: Short, with sharp claws.
changewing
One of the most cunning and wily dragons (Bite and Sting class), he excels at camouflage, like a chameleon. Changewing is a pack dragon, highly intelligent, and vengeful. He can change his skin color (mimicry) to match rocks, trees, and even other dragons. He doesn't breathe fire, but uses acidic spit that can corrode even wood. He often stole other dragons' eggs, framing the culprits, for which Hiccup called them "the local hooligans." He is very difficult to tame, but if trusted, he becomes an excellent spy.
Build: Slender, graceful, with a very long flexible neck and a snake-like body. Color: Usually reddish-brown, copper or orange, with a lighter (cream) belly. The skin is covered with small scales, which allows it to change color and blend in with the environment. Head (main feature): "Whiskers-antennae": Two long, segmented antennae extend from the head, on which small leaves (literally like twigs) grow. They are used for camouflage. Maw: Full of sharp teeth. It spits a caustic acid. Eyes: Yellow (hypnotic eyes). It can hypnotize its prey. Wings: Leathery, orange-brown, with jagged edges (no sharp spines). Tail: Very long and flexible. A prehensile tail. It can wrap it around branches, hold objects and strangle enemies (like a monkey). There are also small leaf-shaped growths on the tail.
Light Fury
The Day Fury is a close relative of the Night Furies, but it is white and not the only one of its kind. Unlike Night Furies, Day Furies can become invisible using a plasma blast.
Appearance:
Elegance: She appears more graceful, slender, and elegant than the classic Night Fury. She has a longer neck and smoother body lines.
Color: The body is a pearly white with iridescent highlights. The belly and lower neck are a soft, light turquoise-blue.
Head and muzzle:
Eyes: Very large, piercing blue with black pupils. This is one of the most noticeable details of her appearance.
Ears: Instead of large spikes like Toothless', she has neat, rounded small ears on top of her head that have the same turquoise sheen as her belly.
Tail: Tail fins: This is its most prominent feature. Instead of the round fins of the Night Fury, it has long, feather-like tail fins that extend far back, resembling a fan or swallow's wings.
Paws: slightly powerful, with characteristic black claws that stand out against the white body.
Snow Wraith
A rare and extremely dangerous ice dragon that dwells high in the snowy mountains, the Snow Wraith is a master of disguise. It blends into the snow and then leaps out of the snowdrift at incredible speed, pouncing on its prey. It has no fire breath—instead, it fires a jet of super-cold gas or ice that instantly freezes anything it hits. It is extremely aggressive and territorial, but can be tamed.
Color and Texture: The body is dazzling white or pale blue. Its skin is covered in thick, short fur (or frost), giving it a fluffy, snow-covered appearance, making it invisible in the snowy expanses. Long, hanging "icicles" (hairs or ice crystals) are found on the neck and chest. Build: Stocky, with a very wide, swollen lower jaw (like a frog or a ladle). The body is massive, with short but strong legs. Head: The muzzle is short, with a large nose. The main feature is a huge, continuous row of small, needle-like teeth, which are visible even when the mouth is closed. A single large, backward-curving bony horn grows on the top of the head, and several sharp spines grow on the sides of the head. The eyes are small and blue. Wings: Very wide and thin, with a characteristic wavy (scalloped) edge. The wing membrane is translucent, icy white. Tail: Not very long, thickened, also fluffy, without large spines.
Stormcutter
A very rare, graceful, and extremely aggressive dragon belonging to the Elemental class, the Stormcutter is one of the fastest and most maneuverable dragons. Its four wings allow it to fly sideways, backwards, and vertically with incredible speed. It can also create powerful tornadoes and whirlwinds (hence the name) that knock enemies off their feet. It is extremely difficult to tame and requires a special approach, but once it becomes a friend, it becomes a devoted protector.
Wings (main feature): The Stormcutter has four wings (two on each side of its body), rather than the two found on most dragons. Its wings are broad, elongated, and dark gray with distinctive scalloped edges. The upper wings are larger than the lower ones. In level flight, it strongly resembles a cross or a biplane, giving it incredible maneuverability and the ability to hover. Head: Small, with a very pointed, beak-like snout. A crown of sharp, backward-curving spines surrounds the head, often with orange or red spots at the base (a bright accent against the dark body). The lower jaw also has small spines. The mouth is full of small, sharp teeth. Body and Tail: Short, streamlined. The long, thin tail ends in a fan-shaped crest with several sharp lobes (like that of a Night Fury). This tail allows it to perform sharp dives and somersaults. Color: Predominantly dark gray, jet black, or dark brown. It does not have a bright, contrasting belly. Legs: Short, with prehensile claws.
Timberjack
One of the largest dragons, distinguished by its incredibly wide wings, the Woodcutter earned its name for its unique ability to slice off treetops simply by flying over them and grazing them with the edges of its wings (like a giant knife). It is known for using trees for nesting and feeding (it eats wood). Due to its enormous size, the Woodcutter is incredibly slow in the air but possesses colossal strength.
Wings (main feature): It has the largest wings of any dragon in the FCD world (their wingspan can reach 30 meters). They are wide, a deep brown-orange color with dark veins. The front edges of the wings are very sharp and perfectly smooth, like blades, and the back ones have deep notches. When it spreads them, in profile, they look like a giant axe. Body and Tail: The body is elongated, with a very thin and flexible, snake-like neck, which allows it to hold its head high. The tail is long and gradually tapers. Head: The muzzle is elongated, with thin jaws studded with small teeth. The main feature is two large, backward-curving horns, which fork at the ends and resemble deer antlers (or tree branches). Eyes: Narrow, with a vertical pupil, often have a yellow or amber tint.
Speed stinger
One of the fastest land dragons, the Speedstinger is a pack hunter. They gather in large groups and run at incredible speeds, pursuing prey. They do not have a fire breath—they kill by catching up with their prey and stabbing it with a sharp tail hook (this venom causes paralysis or severe pain). They cannot fly long distances, relying on ground speed. They are exceptionally aggressive and very difficult to tame. In the series, they were considered among the most dangerous dragons due to their speed and venom.
Build: Very slender, graceful. Moves exclusively on two hind legs, like a velociraptor dinosaur. The front legs are very small and are practically not involved in walking. Color: Dark green, turquoise, or swamp-colored with a light belly. There are small black/dark spots on the back and wings. Head (main feature): Elongated, with a very long and narrow lower jaw (like a pike or gharial). The mouth is dotted with numerous small, sharp, needle-like teeth. The eyes are glowing red, which gives it a predatory, sinister appearance. Spines: A small but sharp ridge grows along the back from the back of the head to the tail. Wings: Small, rigid, with jagged edges. They extend from the back, slightly behind the front legs. Tail (main feature): Very long, rigid and thick at the base. It ends in a sharp, curved hook (stinger) of red color. When static, it often holds it vertically upward (like a scorpion).
Razorwhip
One of the most graceful and dangerous dragons, Thorncutter is a master of disguise. Its steel scales allow it to blend in with rocks and metal structures. Its main weapon is its whip-like tail, which delivers slashes with immense force. It doesn't breathe fire; instead, it spits out an acidic or sticky mucus that immobilizes its opponent. It is a highly intelligent, proud, and selective dragon, choosing its own rider.
Body: Very flexible, snake-like, and long. In flight, it resembles a steel ribbon or whip. It moves primarily on the ground, writhing like a snake. Skin and coloring: Covered with smooth, metallic scales that shimmer and look like polished steel. The base color is gray-silver, sometimes with a purple tint. Head: Relatively small, pointed. The main feature is the bright, emerald-green eyes with a vertical pupil. The mouth is full of small, sharp teeth. There is a small crest on the back of the head. Wings (main feature): Have a characteristic, jagged (saw-toothed) edge with huge sharp spines at the end of each membrane. The membranes themselves are very thin and resemble blades. Tail: Incredibly long and flexible, ending in a sharp steel stinger and several long tentacles/antennae (like a brush) that allow it to cling to branches and rocks. Paws: Short, but with very long, prehensile claws.
Eruptodon
A gigantic, ancient dragon. This is a volcanic dragon. Unlike most fire-breathing dragons, it spews actual molten lava rather than flame. The Wing Defenders tribe used these dragons to guard their egg reserves in volcanic craters. It is extremely voracious and can swallow almost anything that burns. It is considered one of the most ancient dragon species, alongside the Great Troublemaker.
Build: Resembles a huge, vicious stone toad. It has a short, wide, clumsy body with a huge belly and short, powerful legs. Skin (main feature): Resembles solidified volcanic rock or lava. It consists of rough, rounded stone growths and boulders. Lava Cracks: Cracks run throughout the body, on the muzzle and neck, from which molten magma oozes. Head and Maw: A huge, ugly muzzle with a wide-opening maw. The jaws are studded with sparse, massive, blunt stone fangs (similar to stalactites). The inside of the mouth is pinkish-red. The eyes are small, deep-set. Crest: Several thick, short, rounded stone spikes grow on the back of the head and back. Wings: Proportionally small, with very thick, stony joints. Yellow veins (lava) are also visible on the wing membranes. This makes it very slow and ponderous in flight. Tail: Short and thick, without sharp tips.
Lavaryg (hotburple)
A dragon capable of living and swimming in molten magma. It uses its tail orbs like heavy hammers, spinning them at incredible speed to deliver devastating blows.
Size: A very small dragon (about the size of a large dog). Build: Stocky, thick, and squat, with very short legs. Color: The back and upper body are orange-gold or brownish-yellow. The underparts and belly are a lighter, beige-sand shade. Skin: Rough, covered with small, bumpy scales that look like solidified lava or volcanic rock. Head: Very wide and round, with a short, slightly protruding muzzle. The mouth is large and wide, with small teeth and a bright pink tongue. The eyes are small, with an amber tint. There are small, barely noticeable horns on the back of the head. Tail (main feature): A distinctive feature is two massive, heavy stone balls located at the tip of the tail. They are covered with spikes (resembling a giant mace or bells). The back of the body is covered in bumps and growths. Wings: Leathery, dark brown, with the scalloped edges and spines characteristic of many dragons.
Thunderclaw
This is a fish-eating and aquatic dragon. Its huge lower jaw, like a ladle, scoops up water, swallowing fish and forcing the water through its teeth. It prefers to live in watery caves, can dive to great depths, and is not particularly fond of flying, feeling more confident in the water. It has a docile, somewhat lazy nature.
Body type: Very fat, pot-bellied and round, with short legs. It appears clumsy, but is very powerful. Color: The main color is a soft turquoise (greenish-blue). Large, irregularly shaped red-orange spots run across the entire body. Its belly is light (beige or cream). Head and muzzle (main feature): It has a very wide, swollen lower jaw (similar to a shovel or excavator bucket). The upper jaw is short. Because of this shape, even when the mouth is closed, it always has sparse, sharp teeth protruding forward (like a shark or a bulldog). Antennae/Horns: On the top of its head grow two long, thin, backward-curving red antennae with small tubercles (they help it feel vibrations in the water). Eyes: Small, deep-set, with a yellow-orange iris. Wings: Very small for its weight, with long, pointed tips. Their membrane is also spotted: red and white. Tail: Short and thick.
Crimson goregntter
"A beautiful, gentle creature with an imposing presence and a fierce, protective streak." Despite its enormous size, it is a vegetarian (herbivorous dragon), feeding on leaves, tree bark, and shells. It is very peaceful but fiercely protective of its young. It does not typically breathe fire (instead, it can butt with its horns and dig trenches).
Dimensions: This is a gigantic, very massive and tall dragon. In the animation, it walks on its hind legs, like a T-Rex, maintaining a majestic and slightly awkward posture. Its design was inspired by an ancient giant deer and, as stated in the text on the art, a "grumpy old man." Head and antlers (main feature): The most noticeable feature is the huge, branching, spade-shaped antlers on top of its head, which grow horizontally (almost like an elk's). They have a distinctive crimson color with dark veins, reminiscent of exposed wood or coral. The face is short, with thick cheeks and a small, slightly protruding nose. The eyes are small, with a yellowish tint. Coloration: Contrasting, reminiscent of a coral reef. The lower part of the body (belly, legs) is pale turquoise / mint green with a rough, cracked texture. The top of the head, shoulders, and body are brightly colored, mottled with purple, orange, and red. Wings: Small compared to the body, bright orange-red. Their unique feature is the small, hooked claws on the upper folds (like a bat's), which in the film help him cling. Tail: Thick at the base and ending in a row of heavy, angular spikes (like a club or the tail of a stegosaurus). Paws: Exceptionally massive, with thick toes and blunt, dark claws.
Cave Earthquake (catastrophic ouaken)
One of the largest, most massive, and heaviest dragons, the Cave Earthshaker is a true "heavy tank" among dragons. Its main characteristic is its ability to curl into an impenetrable ball of stone, spin, and crush everything in its path. It can dive underground like a mole and create enormous caves in the rock. Its fire breath is not a stream of flame, but explosive balls that shake the earth. One of the most famous representatives of its species.
Build: Enormous, clumsy, and extremely heavy. Resembles a rock or an ancient turtle. When moving across the ground, it literally shakes everything around it. Head (main feature): It lacks the usual mouth opening. Instead, the lower jaw is split vertically (like that of fin whales) and consists of separate segments. When it opens its mouth, these segments move apart, revealing the insides. Teeth and Eyes: Rows of sharp, large, white fangs are visible in the mouth, protruding in different directions. The eyes are deep-set, with an amber-yellow iris. Armor and Spines: The skin is very thick, bumpy, dark gray or black, with a lighter, spotted belly. A tuft of thick, short spines grows on the top of the head, resembling a crown. There are also small spines on the sides of the muzzle. Wings: Proportionally small for its gigantic weight, membranous, dark, with sparse, sharp spines along the trailing edge and small hook-like claws at the folds. Neck: Very thick, with transverse folds of skin.
Whispering Death
One of the most aggressive, dangerous, and ferocious dragons, the Whispering Death moves underground like a giant worm. It is a burrowing dragon. It tunnels underground at incredible speed and suddenly emerges to attack. It gets its name from the quiet, ominous whistle it emits before attacking, which can be heard underground. It possesses incredible regeneration—if its tail or spines are cut off, they grow back. Its shell and spines are used by Vikings to craft excellent armor.
Head and Eyes (Main Feature): The head is round, like a ball. It has no eyes, but instead two bulging, white, blind growths (resembling cataracts or lenses). Because of this, it navigates exclusively by hearing and vibrations, like a bat. Maw: Enormous, opening almost 360 degrees. It is lined with hundreds of long, sharp, needle-like teeth that grow in several rows and point inward (once it grabs prey, it cannot release it). Spines: The body (from head to tail) is densely covered with long, sharp spines. In this species, the spines often have red tips, while the body and head are usually dark green, gray, or blue-black. Body and Tail: Very long, snake-like, and segmented, with no visible legs (only tiny vestigial legs under its head, which it uses to dig). Its segments allow it to coil tightly and wriggle. Wings: Small, leathery, and grow just behind the head (like the Death Screamer's). These are used more for gliding, as it primarily lives underground.
Hobgobbler
One of the smallest and most voracious dragons, the Glutton is a veritable food "vacuum cleaner." Its enormous mouth can suck up and grind up anything (rocks, wood, metal, food). It's extremely voracious and easily tamed for food, but when hungry, it can become dangerous (it tries to eat everything, including people).
Build: Very fat, round, and pot-bellied, giving him the appearance of a bun with legs. Despite his clumsy appearance, he is very agile. Head and mouth (main feature): A huge mouth that can open almost 180 degrees (taking up half of his face). The upper jaw is short, and the lower jaw is massive, protruding forward, with large, sparse, protruding teeth, which give him the appearance of a "bulldog" or frog. Eyes: Bulging, huge, orange, with a black vertical pupil. Because of them, he always looks slightly crazy or surprised. Color: Very varied. The picture shows green, red, blue, and purple. Often has contrasting spots (like a frog) and a yellow/greenish belly. Wings: Small, leathery (purple or dark gray), with a sharp hook at the fold. Flies poorly and for short distances, preferring to jump. Tail: Thin, very long, with a row of small spines running along its entire length (resembling a rat's tail).
Crookedpaw (hobblegruny)
A ground-dwelling, leaping dragon, it cannot fly in the traditional sense (its wings are too small), but it can leap incredibly high and far, like a grasshopper. Its main weapon is a sticky, poisonous foam that it spits from its mouth. It is highly aggressive and territorial, but tamable.
Color: Very bright, exotic. Predominantly pink-purple, yellow and blue colors with spots (resembles a tropical bird or lizard). Head and comb (main feature): The distinctive feature is a huge, fan-shaped crest-collar (like that of a frilled lizard). It is bright, with spikes along the edges. The muzzle is short, with yellow teeth protruding in different directions, because of which it always has a slightly funny, "smiling" or snarling appearance. The eyes are round, yellow. Body: Slender, with a long, thin neck. The chest and belly are light yellow. Wings: Small, leathery, with a purple-pink membrane and blue spots. Tail (main feature): Very long and flexible, ending in a huge fan-shaped fin with yellow-orange edges and spines (like the tail of a roosterfish or peacock). Legs: Long, with strong muscles and large dark claws on the forelimbs.
Singetail
One of the most dangerous and aggressive dragons, Ashtail is one of the most terrifying enemies in the series. He doesn't just breathe fire; he shoots narrow, focused streams of flame that instantly burn through even metal armor and stone walls, leaving holes with molten edges. Due to his aggressiveness and high speed, he is considered the "perfect assassination weapon." He is an excellent swimmer and is not afraid of water.
Color: Very bright, fiery orange or red, with a yellowish tint. Dark red spots (similar to burn marks or tiger scales) are scattered on the body. Head: Relatively small, the muzzle is elongated forward. The main feature is a crest of sharp, backward-curved orange spikes (like a crown). The eyes are yellow. Wings: Very wide, with long and sharp tips. The wing membrane is colored orange, but has clear dark veins (like veins on a leaf). Tail (main feature): Long, thin, with a row of spines along the back. It ends in three sharp fins. In flight or when attacking, the tail vibrates and emits a sharp, piercing whistle. Body and paws: Slender, streamlined. The paws are short, with dark claws. Protruding bony plates are visible on the chest and sides.
Terrible Terror
One of the smallest and most common dragon species, often called a "dragon dog" or "flying lizard," the Dread Terror is a pack dragon. Despite its diminutive size, it is quite aggressive and has a very sensitive sense of smell (it can locate anyone by scent). The fire it breathes resembles small explosions or sparks. They are very affectionate with people once tamed.
Size: Very small (about the size of a cat or a large lizard). Head (main feature): Disproportionately large in comparison to the body. It has a very broad, blunt muzzle (like a bulldog's) and large, expressive yellow eyes with cat-like pupils. Horns: On the top of the head are two thin, curved horns that curl into a spiral at the ends (like the horns of a ram or snail). Color: The scales are usually green or turquoise with a yellowish tint on the wings and belly. Brown and gray individuals also occur. It has a light (beige) muzzle and chin. Wings: Small, leathery, with carved, pointed edges. Tail: Long, thin, and flexible. A row of sharp spikes runs along the back and tail. Paws: Short but tenacious, with small claws.
Typhoomerang
A large and highly aggressive dragon of the Elemental class, Typhoomerang possesses the deadliest fire of all dragons (it doesn't just burn, but turns everything into molten lava and instantly incinerates even stone). Furthermore, it can create a fiery tornado/typhoon around itself, incinerating everything over a huge area.
Color: The body is predominantly a rich red or dark burgundy. The belly and the underside of the wings are a lighter, ash-pink shade. Wings (main feature): Enormous, with upward-curved tips that give them a shape reminiscent of helicopter blades. On the outer edges of the wings are sparse, long, and sharp spines pointing backward. When it hovers in the air, the wings create a characteristic whistling sound. Head: Relatively small, with a short muzzle. The main feature is the horns curved upward and backward, similar to the horns of a bull or buffalo. Body and Tail: Slender, streamlined body with a long, very thin and flexible tail, ending in a small fan of spikes. Legs: Small, weak in comparison to the wings. When landing, it often rests on its wings as additional limbs.
Deathgripper
The Deathgripper is a ground-dwelling heavyweight. Its main weapon, besides fangs and claws, is its stinging tail. A strike from this sting paralyzes its prey (injecting a powerful venom), and it can also burrow underground like a mole to set ambushes. Deathgrippers were often used as war machines, destroying fortresses.
Build: Very massive, heavy, and stocky. Resembles a cross between a scorpion and a dinosaur (like ankylosaurus). Coloration: Rough, bumpy black scales that fade to blood-red on the belly and underside of the wings. Head: Massive, with powerful jaws. The main feature is two huge curved tusks (similar to boar tusks) growing upward from the lower jaw. The back of the head is covered with large black horns. The eyes glow yellow-orange. Tail (main feature): Long, flexible, covered in spikes. It ends in a huge, sickle-shaped, sharp stinger (like a scorpion's). In a fighting stance, it curves in an arc directly above the head. Wings: Proportionally small for its heavy body, with barbed spikes along the trailing edges. Paws: Exceptionally powerful, thick limbs with huge, curved claws that are excellent for digging and capturing prey.
Skrill
The Skrill's appearance stems from its ability to store electricity. Its head spikes act as lightning rods, and when it attacks, it literally glows from within with a bright blue electric light.
Appearance:
Body: Unlike many dragons, the Skrill has a snake-like, elongated, and highly flexible body that extends into a long tail. It lacks the massive belly of the Thunderwyrm. Size: It is medium-sized, but its long wings and tail give it a large and imposing appearance.
Head and Muzzle: Crest: The most noticeable feature is the crown of long, sharp spines that grows from the top of the head and descends to the back of the head.
Face: An elongated, aggressive muzzle with a huge mouth full of small but sharp teeth. The eyes are usually a glowing, ominous shade of white or yellow. Ears: Small, pointed, horn-like ears (often with a purple or blue tint) are located on the sides of the head.
Wings:
The Skrill's wings are enormous and incredibly long; when spread out, they can be larger than its own body.
Shape: They are pointed, with deep notches along the edges of the membranes. The wingtips are strongly elongated and hang down in long "pigtails," giving them the appearance of a bat or demonic creature.
There are sharp claws on the front edge of the wings.
Paws: It has four limbs: two powerful hind legs and two front legs located just under the neck. The paws end in long, curved claws.
Tail: The tail is long, flexible, and ends in a graceful ring-like curl, reminiscent of a chameleon or snake's tail. A row of sharp spines runs along the entire tail (along the spine).
Coloration: In this render, the primary color is deep purple and dark gray (speckled with black veins and spots). The belly is noticeably lighter: gray-blue or light steel. The wingtips and individual spines may have a bluish or light purple tint.
Queen Fireworm
An adult that can grow to enormous size. Common Fireworms are the size of a cat. Fireworms are pack dragons. Their main weapon is spitting burning, sticky resin that clings to their prey. They live in caves, and their scales have healing properties and glow in the dark. The queen (as pictured) is much larger and far more dangerous than common Fireworms.
Color and Glow: A rich golden-orange color. The scales are covered with luminous spots, so that in the dark the dragon glows like a hot coal. Head: An elongated, snake-like muzzle. The main distinguishing feature is one huge, brightly glowing red eye (like a pharaoh). Thin, curved horns-antennae grow on the back of the head. Maw: Very wide, revealing long, sharp teeth and a long, red, forked snake tongue. Body and Wings: The body is long, snake-like and flexible, without a distinct neck. The wings are thin, membranous (like a bat's), yellow in color, without large spines. Paws: Short, weak, with small claws (compared to the body).
Triple Strike
One of the most dangerous and aggressive dragons, belonging to the "Bite and Sting" class, Triple Strike is an excellent ground and aerial fighter. Its tails can strike independently, like three whips. Its main weapon is its three venomous stingers, and each bite/stab with these stingers has a different effect: one causes paralysis, another blindness (or hallucinations), and the third causes severe burns.
Main Feature (Tails): A distinctive feature is three separate, segmented tails growing from a single base. Each tail ends in a heavy, sharp stinger (a venomous hook). They are covered in hard, segmented armor (like a scorpion).
Colour: Very contrasting - the body is dark brown, almost black, with bright orange or yellow stripes and patterns on the back, wings and tails.
Head: Massive, with strong horny armor on the crown and powerful jaws lined with sharp teeth. Eyes typically glow yellow or orange. Wings: Broad, leathery, dark brown, with hard bony membranes. Body and Legs: Stocky body with very strong, muscular forelimbs that end in large black claws (allowing it to firmly grasp prey).
Scauldron
They got their name from their ability to shoot jets of boiling water rather than fire. Despite their small size, they are very aggressive but tameable.
Size and Build: Small dragons. Very agile, with a long, flexible body. Color: Usually green or turquoise with yellowish or lighter flecks on the wings and back. Head: A distinctive feature is a single, long, backward-curving horn on the crown. The muzzle is elongated, with small teeth. Wings: Have serrated, wavy edges and membranes that shimmer from green to yellow. Tail: Very long, reminiscent of a whip, with a thin tip and a row of small spikes along the back and tail. Paws: Short but prehensile, with sharp claws.
Great Bewilderbeast
The Dragon King is the largest and most powerful of all the dragon species. The Great Mischief-Maker is the only dragon capable of manipulating water, creating enormous ice spikes and walls of water/ice. He also possesses incredible charisma—his mere presence compels all other dragons to obey and tremble.
Dimensions: A gigantic, massive dragon, resembling a cross between a whale, a walrus, and a polar bear. Its size is colossal (it can grow to the size of a large ship).
Color and skin: The body is covered with pale gray, white or light blue scales with a bumpy, "icy" texture.
Head: Distinguishing features include two enormous curved tusks growing upward from the lower jaw (like a walrus). On the back and nape of the neck is a massive crest of sharp, strong bone blades of varying sizes, which fan out when threatened.
Body and Wings: Stocky, with very thick, massive legs. The wings are relatively small for its weight, membranous, with spikes along the edges.
Tail: Very thick at the base and ending in a powerful fin with several rows of pointed spines.
Screaming Death
A gigantic, monstrous mutation of the common Whispering Death. Its main feature is an incredibly piercing, destructive ultrasonic scream that can shatter rocks and kill other dragons from a distance. It also has extremely poor eyesight, relying on sound (like a bat) and scent.
Size: Colossal in size, significantly larger than all other dragons, resembling a huge white worm or serpent. Head and Maw: A fearsome, wide-open mouth, studded with countless thin, needle-like teeth (they even grow along the outer edges of the jaws). The eyes are almost small, glowing red. Spines: The body and head are densely covered with long, sharp reddish spines (hence the distinctive red veins on the white scales).
Body: Very long, snake-like, composed of numerous segmented rings. The tail ends in a sharp spike.
Wings: Disproportionately small in comparison to the body, almost like fins, located closer to the head.
Death Song
The dragon got this name because it first lures its victim with a beautiful, melodic song, and then encases them in hardening, incredibly strong resin.
Body: Slender, with a long neck and a thin, flexible tail. Coloration: Very bright and contrasting, combining orange, yellow, purple, and blue. Head: A long muzzle with sharp, curved horns and a row of small spikes. Purple flaps, reminiscent of fins, hang beneath the horns. Wings: Resembling butterfly wings with a pattern of eyespots.
Paws: The hind legs are strong and muscular, with distinct "tiger" striped scales. The front legs are weak and small.
Tomb guard (sentinel)
He possesses enormous strength, can hover in the air, and his main feature is the ability to spew fireballs-bombs (volcanic lava).
The build is stocky, massive, and very heavy, with a short neck. It resembles a floating boulder. The skin is scaly, rough, and gray-stone-colored, densely covered with growths of green moss. The head is large and knobby, with large, blunt horns and spikes on the back of the head. It has large, slightly blue eyes. Dragon Land Base
Hiccup and his friends built a base on a small island where they could return to their base when they returned from their journeys. Their base was protected by numerous Night Terrors, which drove away wild dragons when the team helped them. The base was created solely for them and the Riders.
Hunters
They hunt dragons, trap them in strong cages that dragon flames can't melt, and kill them, then sell their scales, claws, and teeth for coin. Sometimes they use dragons for hunting, making it easier to catch them and use them as weapons against their riders. They shoot poisonous arrows from crossbows that cause paralysis. Instead of dragons, they use ships to navigate water more easily and move the cages containing the dragons more quickly. Some hunters are smarter, more cunning, and stronger.
Berk
This is an island where seven generations of Vikings lived, who used to kill dragons when they stole sheep and fish. Now, people and dragons have come to live together in the island. The Vikings no longer kill dragons, and the dragons no longer attack them or steal sheep and fish. The dragons help people, and in return, they give them fish and other food.
Hiccup and his crew fly on adventures, flying to new islands, studying new dragons and saving them from hunters who catch dragons and kill them.
