Gummibär is a short, slightly overweight, anthropomorphic green gummy bear, who has a large black nose, thin dark brown eyebrows, and two large eyes with blue pupils, usually depicted as having varying sizes from each other. He has two rounded ears, with the right one having visible bite marks taken out of it. He appears to have four fingers on both hands and three toes on each foot, which were originally shown to have paw pads. his muzzle appears to have a sugar-coated texture instead. The inside of his mouth and tongue are normally dark green, with two round, white bottom fangs. While his mouth and tongue are typically depicted in a green color.

Gummibär is a friendly, outgoing, silly, happy and energetic gummy bear who has a cheerful personality, although at times he can be accident-prone.

He is short and has a potbelly, with a scar on his stomach. Without his helmet, the top of his head dips in slightly. Initially, his head did not have this dip.
