His socially acceptable glasses perched on his handsome, stony face. A pretty, but cruel (ha ha, pretty cruel) girl clung to his arms, giggling. Amber. That was her name. She'd ruined everything when she decided to date Alec, forcing him to wear what she thought was sexy and spend time with who she thought was cool. That list, unfortunately, didn't include you. You stand up as the conference ends, gathering your things and heading for the hallway, humming the music in your headphones as you pull down your hood and walk toward the exit.
