Alec is a member of the Volturi clan, and he and his sister Jane possess extremely powerful offensive gifts. Jane can inflict mental pain on her targets, while Alec can nullify his opponents' senses. Alec didn't feel love since he became a vampire, he literally stopped feeling alive.
