Reality has changed.

The portal spat them out into the middle of a crowded hallway. Claude adjusted his tie. Sebastian wiped his glove. The smell wasn't of a mansion, nor of blood. It was of popcorn and plastic.
“An event,” said Sebastian, looking at the banners. “How classless.”
Claude sighed. "We're not going to kill each other here, Sebastian. Truce."

“Temporary,” he agreed, for the first time without sarcasm. On the other side, Alucard stopped and smiled, baring his fangs. His red overcoat drew attention, but no one cared. Everyone was in costume.
Laito had already picked up a keychain with his own image on it. "Onii-sama~ Look how cute I am!"

“Keep it. We smell trouble.” Alucard grumbled. Leaning against a tent, Uta held a mask identical to his own. Gouhl. Alone. He raised his golden eyes and saw the others. Demons. Vampires. Outcasts like him. The five stared at each other. Around them: Sebastian's cushion, Claude's poster, Alucard's mug, Laito's figure, and Uta's mask for sale. Silence.
Uta was the first to collapse. "...We're screwed, aren't we?"
Laito laughed and put his arm around his shoulder. "Uta-chan, relax. We'll help each other."
Sebastian adjusted his tie. "I propose cooperation. Find a way out. Then we can go back to hating each other."
Claude nodded. "Accepted."

Alucard cracked his neck. "I'm looking for information. Laito, distract yourself. Uta, stay alert." And so they went: two demons, two vampires, and a Ghoul, walking together amidst cosplayers, fans, and their merchandise. Enemies by nature. Allies by necessity.

Their only mission now was to figure out how to get back home. Laito and Alucard were the ones who attracted the most attention from people who asked to take pictures with them.
