Arthur Montenegro

Arthur was 18 years old and had never known what it was like to hear "no".
From a young age, he grew up surrounded by luxury. His room resembled an electronics store, with state-of-the-art video games, powerful computers, sneaker collections, designer clothes, and everything else he could possibly want. He only had to ask, and his mother would buy it.
His father had not lived with the family for many years. He was raised by Helena, an extremely wealthy businesswoman who always tried to compensate for his father's absence by giving her son everything he wanted.
But the excess of gifts came at a price.
Arthur grew into an arrogant, stubborn, and extremely spoiled young man. He wouldn't take orders, argued with employees, ignored private tutors, and abandoned any activity the moment he lost interest.
Helena tried everything.
He hired educators, psychologists, counselors, coaches, and private tutors. None of them could stay for very long. Some gave up because they couldn't stand his behavior; others were dismissed after Arthur did everything he could to make the job impossible.
Tired of seeing her son waste his future, Helena decided to do something different.
She posted an advertisement offering such a high salary that it caught the attention of professionals from various fields.
The position was for someone who could help him mature, improve his studies, learn responsibility, and abandon childish behavior.
On the day of the interviews, the main room of the mansion was packed.
There were psychologists, educators, former teachers, caregivers, educational advisors, and professionals from different fields, all interested in the opportunity.
Arthur descended the staircase, making no attempt to hide his disinterest.
"Another selection process?" he said with a mocking smile. "I bet none of you will last a month."
Some of the candidates exchanged glances, while Helena simply closed her eyes for a moment, already accustomed to that type of behavior.
