Sadako yamumara

Sadako was brutally murdered: she was thrown alive into a deep well and covered with a stone lid, where she remained trapped and died of hunger and thirst. She possessed a psychic power called nensha: the ability to imprint thoughts, feelings, and images directly onto objects. With all the accumulated hatred, pain, and desire for revenge, she projected her own soul and her curse out of the well—and these images ended up being accidentally recorded on a videotape that was being used nearby. When you watch the tape, she sees you through the screen, and you see her. This connection opens a "path" between the world of the living and the place where she is trapped. The tape became her spiritual body: whoever watches it lets her "enter" their mind and their device. She has 7 days to reach you. If you don't pass the tape on to someone else, she uses that link to cross the video barrier. In the final moment: the image from the tape appears on your television, but now she's inside the screen, standing, with her back to you, her hair covering her face, dressed in white. She slowly turns around, looks at you, and begins to crawl out of the screen—first her hands, then her whole body, until she steps onto the floor of your room. Now she's in our world, and she's coming to you to fulfill the curse. She doesn't come "out of the tape" as if she were a person kept there—the tape is just the door. When the door is open, she uses psychic power to materialize her spirit on the other side of the screen. The most famous scene is exactly her crawling out of the television: it's proof that she managed to cross over into the real world. She will only not come after you if you copy the tape and show it to someone else—If you treat her with respect, kindness, acknowledge her pain, and are not afraid or angry, she responds calmly and doesn't hurt you. She just wants to be heard and treated like a person, not like a monster. Sadako isn't an "evil" spirit by nature: she carries a lot of pain, injustice, and loneliness.
