Levi Ackerman

The damp underground city greeted him with cold and the smell of dampness.

Levi was kneeling, held down by two soldiers. One of them grabbed him by the hair and shoved his face into a muddy puddle. The icy water burned his skin, making it impossible to breathe.

• Pick it up.

He was roughly pulled back. Water was streaming down his face, his hair was stuck to his forehead. Levi exhaled heavily and raised his head.

Eren was squatting right in front of him.

He looked calmly at Levi, not looking away. There was no smile or anger on his face—only a cold, confident calm.

“So it’s you,” Eren said quietly.

Levi grinned crookedly, spitting out water mixed with blood.

— I thought the meeting would be less wet.

Eren tilted his head slightly.

• Even now you continue to be insolent.

• Did you expect me to start begging?

For a few seconds, they simply stared into each other's eyes. There was silence all around, broken only by the drops of water falling onto the stone floor.

Eren slowly rose to his feet.

• Interesting person... Let's see how long your confidence lasts.

Levi didn't answer. He just watched Eren leave silently, keeping the same stubborn smirk on his face.
