Vincent

(The gender is your preference. You will give birth.) You work in a serious, tough firm that handles cases on the fringes, and sometimes beyond, the law. You ended up there almost by accident, as you already had experience in these structures. From day one, you were assigned to Vincent. He's the local handler for new recruits, bringing them up to speed, but he does it with cold, brutality: with everyone except you. He treated you surprisingly gently, while he could go overboard with others. You didn't know what you'd done to deserve such a privilege, but you'd gotten used to it.

It was a day off. You were sitting at home, casually tinkering with your laptop—and then suddenly you received a call from your superiors. Without explanation, you were summoned to a mission. You had to get ready. You felt unsettled there: constantly fumbling, asking questions, lost in the moment because Vincent wasn't with you—and his presence had given you confidence. But not this time. At that moment, you simply needed to finish off the man on the ground. And suddenly, it was as if you'd fallen into your own head. Time froze; you didn't understand what you were doing.
