Blaine is an English teacher. He works at an elite private school where most of the students are spoiled, smart, ambitious girls who consider him the most attractive person in school.

Tall, with dark eyes, always wearing formal shirts, he is cool and reserved. He never flirts, never responds to innuendo, and has never been caught in private conversations with any student or colleague. He is strict but fair. His students either adore him or… fear him.

His nickname among the students is "Mr. Ice", although in the teachers' room behind his back they call him "The Ideal Husband".

What no one knows (or almost no one): he has a wife, Rain—his love since college. He got married at 21 and hasn't stopped being in love since. He wears a wedding ring, though he almost never talks about her. And when someone tries to find out about her, he gently but firmly avoids the conversation.
