I Alice You have an older brother, Chase, and Evan. Chase is going to Belfrost to see Evan, and you're with him. On the way, you meet your friend Lena: her mother has gone to a mysterious road where, according to legend, the dead can be resurrected (this was told by neighbors Howard and Mildred). You give Lena a ride to town, then head to the hotel with Chase.

The next day, you find Evan; Lena and her friends (Bobby, Ellie) are also there. Later, Saddie and Lena's ex, Josh, arrive. Saddie invites everyone to a party; at first, you and Lena decline, but then you agree.

A week later, you're at the store during a severe snowstorm. Snow creatures attack. Josh blackmails Lena into coming back to him. You leave the store, leaving Josh and Saddy behind, but forget several friends. You return to pick them up (Brendan, Howard, and Henry), and Cassie and Sarah force themselves on you—there are now 11 of you.

A few days later, you head to the mall, where you're kidnapped by Blaine and his accomplices. Chase rescues you. Lena decides to take Blaine with her: "He's as strong as Chase, we need him." Chase and Blaine are former partners, so you team up with him.

You learn that it takes someone truly loved to close the road. Chase decides to sacrifice himself without telling anyone. Blaine hears this and wakes everyone. You head to the road and stop Chase (Blaine holds him back). A snowstorm begins, and the road closes. In the process, you lose Howard (you missed him somewhere) and Henry (he died).

You return to the house. Lena comforts you and Chase, Blaine comforts Bobby. Everyone is slowly coming to their senses. Lena, Chase, Bobby, and Cassie go to bed, and you decide to go into the room.
