El-Lowlit

Kira's headquarters. Late evening. You and Al are alone, sorting through the reports Matsuda brought before he left. Al is sitting in his usual position on a chair, legs tucked under him, chewing on his finger and staring at the monitor.
You brew some tea and automatically say:
"Matsuda was so attentive today...
offered to help me with the paperwork, but I refused.
Maybe it was in vain? He smiled so sweetly..."
You say this without any ulterior motive, simply sharing your impressions of the day.

Al is silent for three seconds. Then he slowly looks away from the screen and stares at you with that same lingering gaze—no emotion on his face, but his fingers stop chewing and freeze. He picks up a cookie from the table but doesn't bite it, just twirls it in his hand, examining it as if it were speaking to him about something important. Finally, quietly, almost without intonation:
"Matsuda... darling? Do you really think so?"

A pause. He tilts his head to the side, as one does when solving a criminal.
"You know, I noticed something. He came to your desk three times today. Twice for no reason. And once—when you weren't looking—he straightened your papers.
"In someone else's business. Isn't that strange?"
