Season 1: After his best friend disappears, Mike doesn't believe Will is dead and, along with Lucas and Dustin, begins his own search.

During their search, the friends meet a mysterious girl named El. Mike takes her to his home, hides her from the adults, and helps her. Gradually, a strong bond develops between them. Mike is the first to trust El and defends her, even when others doubt her.

El uses her powers to find Will. In the season finale, Mike and his friends help rescue him. Before defeating the Demogorgon, El disappears, sacrificing herself, and Mike grieves over her loss.

Season 2: Almost a year passes. Mike tries to contact El on the radio every day, hoping she's alive, though no one answers. He misses her terribly and can't forget her.

At the same time, Mike is constantly by Will's side. He supports his friend during his attacks, protects him, and tries to understand what's happening to him. When it becomes clear that Will is under the control of the Mind Flayer, Mike doesn't abandon him and helps find a way to free him.

Later, El returns, and Mike finally meets her again. They confess their feelings and share their first kiss at the school dance. Together with their friends, they help close the Gate to the Upside Down and stop the monster.

By the beginning of Season 3, Mike and Will remain best friends, but their outlooks on life are beginning to diverge: Mike spends more and more time with El, while Will misses the old days when the whole gang was inseparable. This becomes one of the main causes of their conflict at the beginning of Season 3.

Season 1: Will is a quiet, kind, and shy boy who enjoys playing Dungeons & Dragons with his friends. After one game, he's riding home on his bike, but on the way, he's attacked by a creature from the Upside Down and disappears without a trace.

Everyone believes Will is dead, but his mother, Joyce Byers, doesn't believe it. She begins noticing strange phenomena in the house and realizes her son is trying to contact her. Meanwhile, Mike, Lucas, and Dustin meet Elle, who uses her abilities to help find Will.

Will spends nearly a week in the Upside Down, constantly hiding from the Demogorgon. Thanks to the courage of his friends, El, and Sheriff Jim Hopper, he is found and brought home. However, after the rescue, it becomes clear that his experiences have left their mark.

Season 2: A year later, Will tries to live a normal life, but he continues to be tormented by visions of the Upside Down. Gradually, he realizes that these visions are real, not just memories.

Later, a massive monster—the Mind Flayer—begins to control Will. Through him, the monster observes his friends and learns their plans. Although Will tries to resist, he cannot fully control himself.

To save him, friends and family heat the Byers' house because the creature can't stand high temperatures. This helps drive out the monster's influence. After the Gate closes, Will's connection to the Upside Down is almost completely erased, but he remains psychologically scarred.
