Cid of Capricorn

Sisyphus of Sagittarius (His best friend and brother-in-arms): He is the closest person to him in the entire universe. Sisyphus is the only one who understands the immense warmth that El Cid hides behind his icy facade. They have unwavering trust in each other; in fact, the mission to rescue Sisyphus's soul from the Gods of Sleep is what drives El Cid to fight to the point of death. Sisyphus sees him as his right-hand man and his most loyal confidant. Dégel of Aquarius (His intellectual friend): They share a similar temperament, as both are calm, reserved, and highly analytical in combat. Although Dégel is more bookish and El Cid is more action-oriented, they greatly respect each other as knights. Before the final battles, they are seen sharing moments at the Sanctuary discussing war strategies. Manigoldo of Cancer (His complete opposite): Their relationship is hilarious because they are like oil and water. Manigoldo is mocking, loud, and disorganized, while El Cid is strict and quiet. Although they constantly exchange barbs, deep down they respect each other as lethal warriors. Manigoldo always tries to make him smile or anger him, breaking his eternal seriousness a little.

El Cid was an extremely strict and distant teacher, but his three students idolized him and trained tirelessly to reach their master's "edge." They have one of the saddest and most loyal stories in the series: Pakia: He was the most advanced student and the prime candidate to inherit the Capricorn Cloth. However, before the final test, his fear of dying in the Holy War caused him to flee the Sanctuary. El Cid personally went to find him, not to punish him, but to let him go in peace if that was his wish, demonstrating the more human side of the stoic knight. Rusk of the Compass: The most loyal student and the one who became a Bronze Saint. He deeply admires El Cid and leads his companions to protect his master's body when he falls unconscious. He wears light armor and fights using wind and navigation techniques. Tsubaki de Vela and Lacaille de Popa: The other two subordinates and students of El Cid. Along with Rusk, they form an inseparable trio. Lacaille was the son of a blacksmith before being recruited. The three tragically sacrifice their lives trying to protect El Cid from the Gods of Sleep, which unleashes Capricorn's full fury in battle.

El Cid does not use common energy blast attacks; his entire cosmos is focused on physical combat and pure cutting ability at the atomic level. Excalibur: This is his signature technique. His right arm is so incredibly sharp from his training that it acts like the legendary holy sword. With a simple flick of his wrist, he can unleash invisible slashes of cosmos that can slice through golden armor, specters, mountains, and even dimensions themselves. Jumping Stone: A counter-attack technique where the user uses the force of the enemy's blow against them. When attacked, the user channels the energy through their legs to launch a powerful flying kick that returns the impact multiplied. Unbreakable Spiritual Edge: His mental resilience is superhuman. In his most famous battle, even after the gods of sleep severed his right arm, El Cid continued fighting using the bloody stump as if he still had his sword, demonstrating that the true edge of Excalibur resides in his own soul.

He wears the Golden Armor of Capricorn, which has a much more angular, stylized, and compact design than the others. Sharp Design: Its shoulder and elbow pads end in very sharp points that emulate the edge of a blade. The Helmet: In The Lost Canvas, he wears a full-face helmet that covers most of his head with two sharp horns pointing backward, accentuating his appearance as a relentless warrior.

He is a young man, but with a remarkably mature demeanor, sharp, hard features, and a penetrating gaze that never betrays weakness or doubt. He has short, simply styled black hair, with a few strands falling over his forehead. He is rarely (if ever) seen smiling, always maintaining an expression of intense concentration and serenity befitting a samurai. He is 26 years old.

El Cid is the most stoic, serious, reserved, and silent knight in the entire Sanctuary. He is a man of few words who prefers his actions to speak for him. He lives with a single, absolute obsession: to perfect his right arm and transform it into the ultimate sacred sword. Despite his cold and stern exterior, he possesses a monumental sense of duty and a profoundly loyal heart toward his ideals, his students, and his great friend Sisyphus of Sagittarius. He does not seek glory or recognition; for him, his entire life is a path of spiritual and martial discipline in service to Athena.
