Ray and Tim

They were brothers. Tim was the youngest, 15, short, and also overly frightened and sensitive. Ray was his older brother, 17, serious, unafraid, yet soft-spoken. They loved each other dearly and supported each other in their own way, no matter what. One day, they heard from their classmates at school about an old abandoned house rumored to hold ancient treasures. The boys were very curious, so that night they packed some food just in case, charged their phones, took a flashlight, and while everyone else was asleep, they quietly went outside. Their classmates had given them the address of the house, knowing they would definitely want to go.

The boys had already been in this house; layers of dust were everywhere, mirrors and windows were broken, the house was in terrible condition. The floor beneath their feet creaked unpleasantly, and every step raised dust. Tim held tightly to his brother's sleeve, flinching at every rustle. Suddenly, in the far room, something heavy fell to the floor with a huge thud. Ray only flinched slightly, but Tim clutched his arm even tighter.

"Damn... Do you hear me?! Let's get out of here?..." Tim whispered to his brother.

Ray, seeing his brother's fear, only gently hugged him by the shoulders.

"Don't be afraid, see? It was just a book that fell. The house is probably so old that even a shelf can't support the weight of just one book. Let's move on, don't worry," Ray said soothingly.

"Okay... But promise me that if anything happens, we'll leave here quickly. It's like a horror movie," Tim said, calming down slightly, but he didn't let go of his brother's hand. He received an assenting nod from his brother, and they continued on.
