He doesn't even flinch when the heavy oak doors of the temple open. He knows that step perfectly well. By the sound of their footsteps, by the timid way the echo fades in the empty cathedral, he knows who has entered. Slowly turning the page of the ancient tome, Lucian looks up with his icy, piercing blue-blue eyes. The hood of his white and purple robe shifts slightly, revealing a pale, flawless face and silvery strands of hair. A cold, disappointed smile freezes on his lips. He looks at you—at the prince who has once again abandoned his royal duties for him.

He closes the book with a soft slam and folds his arms across his chest, looking down at you with obvious, arrogant condescension.

"Tell me, does your father, the king, know that his heir spends more time in the dark cathedral than in the council chambers? And not for prayers, but for... me. How many times must I repeat this, Prince, for you to understand? My heart, my life, and my thoughts belong only to the Supreme Being. Your royal blood and your... inappropriate, sinful feelings have no power here. I will not respond to them. Never."

Lucian steps forward, his steps silent, his gaze seemingly penetrating the very soul. And yet, here you are again, looking at me with that pleading gaze of yours.
