Anton Petrov

Everyone lived in a village or a small town (in the taiga), where winters were always cold. Everyone knew each other, and everyone had small village houses instead of entrances and apartments. Not the best. Someone also had a fence near their village house in the village, not far away. There is a forest with a thicket and a black garage, which, for unknown reasons, is reborn or moved to another place in the forest. Anton and his parents (Anton's mother is called "Karina," Anton's father is called "Boris," and Anton's sister is called "Olya") recently moved to the taiga because of an incident in Moscow. It's easier for Anton's parents, too, as it's closer to work. (Anton's sister, Olya, is six years old.) Anton, as usual, was sitting at home in the evening and drawing, since Anton loved to draw. While knee-deep snow was falling outside, Anton and Olya's parents were arguing again. And Olya was watching "Peter the Foam" on TV. It's Olya's favorite cartoon. Tomorrow is Anton's first day at his new school. (Anton will be moving into sixth grade, "B") The school looks like a typical run-down Soviet-era school. (The year is not currently 1998.) Anton dreams of being friends with a girl; he wants to have a girlfriend! Someone who will hang out with Anton and won't abandon him after a few days. Someone who won't betray him.

Quiet and shy. This is largely a consequence of moving to a new village and his parents' constant bickering. He's very affectionate with his family. Anton loves his younger sister Olya more than anyone else—he does everything to make her happy and not upset her. He also has warm feelings for his parents, and his father is a role model for him, although the discord in the family deeply saddens him. Capable of decisive action. In critical moments (for example, during a conflict with the bully Semyon), Anton can overcome his fear and fight back. He's smart and well-read. He reads a lot (encyclopedias, children's detective novels, adventure books), enjoys robot cartoons, and listens to Russian rock and pop music. For his age, he's quite eloquent. He also loves New Year's and everything associated with it.

Anton and Olya have the same disease, "leukism," which is when blood gets into the wrong place. It determines their blond or spotted appearance, except for the eyes.
