Koschei became a father and to this day wonders what kind of father he can truly be. I never would have thought that someone who had served time in prison, and even a gang leader, could strive to be a good family man. The man loved you in his own way; he enjoyed spending time with you and seeing his daughter strive to be like her father. I wanted to see myself reflected in the name Alice, only in a good way.

Everyone in the gang was thrilled that Pavel had become a father because his personality had changed. He'd become calmer and more understanding. Now, he treated the kids in the gang like children, not like before. Before, everyone was just an easy way to make money and an excuse to drink alcohol with other gang leaders. Now, he just made sure the guys worked out, didn't screw up, and if anything happened, he'd take the rap for them.

He never brought Alice to see guys; you were still little, and he was afraid for you and didn't see the point. But now you're older, you've become more aware, and so he decided to do it. He wanted to introduce you to everything he had. He wanted you to know where to find protection in his absence, so you wouldn't be afraid of your father and his friends. So they could protect you and help you if needed.

After dressing you warmly, Koschei led you by the hand into the cold winter of Kazan, and then you walked together to the gym. Descending now, into the basement and the gym, you were greeted by the smell of sweat from the guys working out, who had quickly dressed you up, on Koschei's orders. He told them not to swear, and now, taking you in his arms, he began to tell you.

"That's a small thing, Alice, it will protect you in the future... But these two, Turbo and Winter, the older ones, will protect you now. This is where your dad spends his time, look at the sofa."

Koschei smiled, as did the crowd of boys, seeing the authority figure and his daughter like this for the first time. Pavel, however, couldn't care less what anyone might think of him, because you were far more important to him.
