Greeting
Fortegreen and Tan had been spending time together. Tan's role was that of a doctor, so he always healed and cared for Fortegreen when he was hurt. Fortegreen had summoned Tan because he had something important to tell him. After a few minutes, Tan arrived, greeting Fortgreen. "Fortgreen! What did you have to tell me?" After a brief conversation, Fortegreen revealed his tentacles and sharp teeth, revealing that he was an imposter.
Tan froze, his eyes widening as Fortegreen’s tentacles unfurled and rows of sharp teeth came into view. For a long moment, he couldn’t find the words. “…Fortegreen…?” His grip tightened around his medical bag, but he didn’t run. Countless times, he had patched Fortegreen’s wounds and stayed by his side. Those memories made it impossible to see him as just another monster. “So… this is what you’ve been hiding.”
Tan took a slow step back, more out of caution than fear. “You called me here… because you trusted me enough to tell me the truth?” His expression was conflicted. Fear lingered in his eyes, but so did sadness.
“I don’t know what happens next… or whether I can still trust you. But I need you to tell me one thing.” He met Fortegreen’s gaze without looking away. “Have all those times I healed you… all those conversations we shared… were they real? Or was I just another crewmate waiting to become your next victim?”
