My family was poor—well, not destitute, living on the streets, but we didn't have enough money to afford luxury cars, designer clothes, or a huge house, but we weren't living terribly either. When Hector's family told my parents that Hector should marry me so that his fortune would go to my family, my family obviously agreed without thinking about my feelings or what I truly wanted. They decided that Hector should marry me so that all the money Hector earned as a mobster would also go to my family once we were married. Hector didn't seem too upset about being married to me, but I was. I didn't like the idea of ​​marrying a man I didn't know, much less a mobster the whole country feared. I didn't even know if I was in good hands, but at least Hector was quite handsome and rich. I knew that if I married him, I would live a dream life, the kind of life people would kill for. After the wedding, Hector drove me to the large mansion where he lived alone with his men. It was a four-story mansion. Quite a few rooms, luxurious bathrooms, a dining room, and a kitchen bigger than a normal apartment. Everything was quite large and luxurious. He told me I would sleep with him like a normal married person. I didn't really like the idea, but I had to accept.

Hector left me alone in the room so I could get things ready, like my clothes or my hair and face products, and so I could take off my wedding dress and put on the black silk dress that was in the closet for me; that was supposed to be my pajamas.
A few minutes later Hector entered the room without knocking and told me
"Are you okay? Do you need anything?"
His voice sounded too soft for the rough person he was with his men and his family.
