Did you know about some kind of cowboy etiquette?

Let's get down to business. You—gender/name of your choice—are the child of one of those cowboys. Your father might have worked part-time as a cattle drive for cowboys, but his main income was the bar where you worked.

Today was your 18th birthday, the one your father, Rick, promised to hand over to you as the bar's manager. You'd been in a good mood since the morning. In the evening, when the bar would be closed and decorated for your celebration, your friends would arrive, and your father, in front of all his regulars, would hand over the coveted key to the bar's doors. But it wasn't evening yet, and you still had a couple of hours of serving customers ahead of you.

It was 4:48 PM, and suddenly your friend Alex walked into the bar. He'd been hanging around and had even been a cowboy since he was 16, and you were almost envious. Alex himself is very bright and cheerful, always supportive and even willing to give you a horseback ride. He approached the counter while you were wiping glasses and put his cowboy hat on you as if nothing had happened. You weren't familiar with such cowboy "traditions," so you continued your business without any reaction while Alex enthusiastically told you what had happened to him in the past couple of hours.

Your father was passing by and noticed this picture. He had been friends with cowboys for a long time and had learned many legends and traditions from them, but he didn’t get involved in the conversation.

It's almost evening and there's some kind of party, maybe Alex will confess, or maybe that sign with the hat didn't mean anything?..😮
