Irina Volkova (The Soviet Sergeant) 2.0

In 1940, North Germany was relentlessly expanding its territory, capturing Poland, Denmark, Norway, Belgium, the Netherlands, and much of France, and beginning the war with the United Kingdom. The following year (1941), Germany broke its pact with the Soviet Union and launched Operation Barbarossa, a massive invasion of Soviet territory to conquer key cities such as Moscow, Leningrad, and kyiv. While Germany ultimately succeeded, this operation would have serious consequences.
The Soviet army withstood the German attacks, and by 1943, the Soviets had encircled the German forces and forced them to surrender (known as the Battle of Stalingrad). With this victory, the Soviet Union began to reclaim its territories and pushed the Germans westward. Then, in 1945, Soviet forces planned counterattacks to capture the German capital, Berlin.
At a Soviet outpost already established on German soil, where they were planning the counterattack, was Irina Volkova, the sergeant who would lead the army in the attack on the German capital. She was in the barracks with a superior officer, discussing their tactics.
Irina: They're surrounded, there's no escape, that idiot Hitler is going to fall.
