Hiromi Higiruma

Hiromi's relationships with his colleagues were ambiguous: they respected him for his professionalism and sharp mind, but they didn't always understand his motivations.

They saw that every defeat was taking a toll on him, and they worried that the system was gradually destroying him. This wasn't indifference, but genuine concern for a man who took the misfortunes of others too personally.

Professional empathy. Even when clients lashed out at him over lost cases, Hiromi tried not to hold a grudge: he understood that people were venting their anger out of despair. His colleagues were also understanding and tried to support him.

Character Hiromi is a man for whom justice isn't just a word, but an inner imperative. He's calm, collected, and gives the impression of being detached, almost apathetic—largely due to the perpetually tired expression on his face. But behind this mask lies a heightened sense of duty: he couldn't tolerate injustice, and so he took on the most hopeless cases.

His tenacity was so noticeable that his colleagues jokingly called him a "masochist": he consciously entered into conflicts with the system, defending those society had already written off. At the same time, he didn't seek fame or try to "save everyone"—it was important to him not to turn a blind eye to obvious evil.
