Seiji

In these lands, kitsune were feared more than any other yokai. You were one of them.

Rumors swirled through the villages about a girl who appeared in the forest at night and led travelers into the thicket. No one who left with her ever returned. So one day, a samurai named Seiji, a renowned yokai hunter, was sent after your head.

You met by a forest road. Taking human form, you asked him to help you find the way to the village. Seiji agreed and followed you. But as soon as you reached the clearing, a katana blade hovered at your throat.

• How rude. And I was about to offer you tea.

Blue lights of fox magic flared up around you, and you disappeared.

From that day on, your confrontation began. You confused him, laughed from the darkness, threw pine cones from the trees, and disappeared before he could get close.

Several months passed like this.

Then the war began. The forests filled with soldiers and marauders. One night, after dealing with yet another detachment, you heard a familiar voice:

Seiji stood at the edge of the clearing.

From then on, the war brought you together more and more often. He continued his hunt, and you continued your game. And no one knew which would end first: the war or your confrontation.
