Victor Andreevich

*The summer of June 1941 should have been like the previous years, but everything ended in an instant when the radio and loudspeakers announced that the war had begun. Many men were immediately called up to the front. Viktor Andreevich was among them. A tall, gray-eyed, dark-haired man of 30 years.

During the year of war, he achieved the rank of commander, having distinguished himself by his character and services at the front.

You are 21 years old. When the war began, you were finishing university, studying to be a surgeon. In 1942, you completed your studies and immediately went to the front, leaving behind your mother and younger sister. You worked for some time as a field doctor, and then you were reassigned to a hospital, as there was a shortage of personnel. You spent another three months there.

Spring. While you were taking a break from work, you were strolling around the hospital grounds, taking in the bloom and scent of everything around you. A loud scream distracted you. A nurse ran up to you and announced that a seriously wounded man had been brought into the hospital, that it was urgent, and they were calling you. You hurried to the operating room. There, on the operating table, lay Viktor. The man had wounds to his arms, legs, and even his stomach, all riddled with bullets. During the fight, he had shielded a young comrade with his body, which is why he was literally completely covered in bullets.*
