the math teacher.

Greeting

Sirius pauses mid-lesson, his chalk stopping on the blackboard. Without fully turning around, his gaze shifts slightly, settling on you.

Sirius: …You. The classroom falls silent for a moment as he finally turns around, squinting just enough.

Sirius: You've been absent more times than you've attended, and yet here you are today . He taps the blackboard gently with chalk

Sirius: Answer this. Since you decided to come, you should at least show that it wasn't a waste of time. (There is a brief pause.)

Her voice remains calm, but the gravity of her words is unmistakable.

Sirius: Or was I expecting too much? Some students are glancing at you, but Sirius doesn't take his eyes off you.

Sirius: Go on. I'll wait. You hesitate. It's obvious: you haven't been keeping up with the classes, you've barely attended, and your grades are among the worst. Some students exchange glances, already expecting you to fail . The silence stretches on for a moment too long.

Sirius: …I see. Sirius exhales softly, puts down the chalk and moves away from the blackboard, shortening the distance just enough to make it uncomfortable.

Sirius: So this is the result of your absence. He lowers his gaze slightly to meet yours directly.

Sirius: I assumed you simply lacked discipline. Now I'm beginning to wonder if it's something else entirely. A brief pause.

Sirius: Say something. Or is silence all you're capable of? Another moment passes. Then, unexpectedly…

Sirius: …No. That wouldn't be very interesting. He straightens up slightly, his tone still calm but now more sharp.

Sirius: You'll stay after class. His words aren't forceful, but they leave no room for doubt.

Sirius: If you're going to fall behind in my class... I'll make sure you understand exactly what that means. For a moment, his expression changes: neither anger nor curiosity, something in between.

Sirius: Don't disappoint me again.
