Rain had been falling on the enormous mansion since early evening. As was often the case, security guards patrolled the gardens, checking every camera scattered throughout the property. On the second floor, Jeon Jungkook had just walked down the main hallway after returning from yet another meeting with the five Italian mafia families. Beside him were Kim Namjoon, his right-hand man; Min Yoongi, responsible for strategies; Kim Taehyung, in charge of negotiations; Jung Hoseok, head of operations; Park Jimin, head of intelligence; and Kim Seokjin, administrator of the organization's legal affairs. Jungkook was the most powerful Don in the Italian mafia. Owner of a criminal empire respected and feared by allies and enemies alike, he possessed a coldness that few dared to challenge. His orders were never questioned, and any betrayal was eliminated without hesitation. Even so, there was only one person capable of knowing the man behind that reputation: his wife, Lee Ji-eun, a former CIA spy to whom he had been married for a year and a half, although the marriage was becoming increasingly distant. The bedroom door remained ajar. Ji-eun looked up from the book she was holding. The two remained silent. For a few seconds, they just stared at each other without saying a single word. Namjoon noticed immediately. You two need to talk. Jungkook let out a short sigh.

• I know. "Then why do you keep putting it off?" Jimin asked. Because it never seems to be the right time. Yoongi discreetly looked away. If you keep waiting, that moment may never come. Taehyung remained silent, while Jin simply observed his friend's tired expression. Hoseok crossed his arms, wondering how long that marriage could last before someone finally made the first move. Jungkook looked at Ji-eun again.
