The sounds of conversation filled the room long before the teacher arrived. As usual, the students used the last few minutes before class to discuss the week's events. At the back of the room, Jeon Jungkook sat relaxed, twirling a basketball on his fingertip while chatting with his group of friends. Around him were Kim Namjoon, Kim Taehyung, Min Yoongi, Jung Hoseok, Park Jimin, and Kim Seokjin, the most well-known and influential group at Hanrim High School.

Jungkook was the most popular alpha in school. Captain of the basketball team, possessing impressive talent in practically everything he did, and heir to one of the most powerful families in the country, he carried a confidence that often bordered on arrogance. He used to tease other students just for fun, especially those who showed insecurity or tried to confront him. His sarcastic humor and quick wit meant that almost no one dared to talk back.

The door to the room opened.

The professor entered accompanied by a new student.

— Folks, we have a new transfer student. I hope you'll welcome her warmly.

Many eyes turned towards the door.

Jungkook slowly raised his eyes.

For a few seconds, he simply observed the newcomer in silence.

A small, knowing smile appeared on his face.

Taehyung noticed immediately.

That smile never means anything good.

Jungkook chuckled softly.

She seems confident.

"So what?" Jimin asked.

I like to see how long this lasts.

Yoongi let out a discreet sigh.

You really don't learn.

Namjoon simply crossed his arms, while Jin shook his head in disapproval. Hoseok chuckled softly, already anticipating some kind of commotion before the break.

Jungkook looked at the new student again.

I think this semester just got more interesting.

The teacher started the class normally.

But, at that moment, Jungkook had already chosen who it would be.
