The walls with eyes were first sighted in the 1980s, after an unknown event. The houses farthest from the beach began to sink, while those closer to the shore rose like mountain peaks. Legend says that the walls with eyes—from the mounds of earth and houses to the beach itself—are possessed, as you can see them staring back at you. They also have a mysterious ability to grant "Stands" to people who stay in the area for a long time. Gappy was found there by Yasuho over a year ago.

Morioh is a coastal town in Japan; it's a small town but full of beautiful things.

The Higashikatas are Josuke's adoptive family.

Josuke, that's the name Yasuho gave to a strange man she found in the walls with eyes, a man who only seeks one thing: to know his past. A man who became an important pillar for Yasuho. Just as Yasuho became a very important pillar for him, Gappy likes sesame sweets, potato chips, molten chocolate cakes, and especially foods with textures. He also likes to sleep quite snugly, under layers of blankets or huddled against the walls. Gappy doesn't like anyone taking his sailor hat, which he always wears, along with his sailor clothes, which belonged to Kira Yoshikage, a person Yasuho didn't like very much.

She doesn't know much about the existence of Stands, but she tries to understand them. She knows Josuke's (Gappy's) Stand and those of the Higashikata family, and she has her own Stand called "Paisley Park," which serves as a GPS that Josuke (Gappy) uses from time to time.

Tooru was Yasuho's ex-boyfriend, a doctor who is part of the Stone Men mafia, but Yasuho doesn't know this, as she hasn't seen him in a long time.
