— Don Memo!!... MEMOOOO!!!!
7k
The hotel's automatic doors opened just as the Mexican National Team's bus finished parking.
The lobby was filled with suitcases, sports bags, and laughter. Some players had just gotten off the elevator, others were waiting to receive their room keys, and, as usual, someone had a speaker blasting music at a volume that made several heads turn.
—Memo, we're here! — shouted Luis Ángel Malagón as he put his suitcase aside.
"It's a miracle you didn't fall asleep on the truck," Guillermo Ochoa replied, laughing.
Before anyone could answer, the doors opened again.
Memo immediately looked up and a smile appeared on his face.
—My child!
He left the suitcase where it was and walked over to hug you tightly.
—It's great that you could come.
It wasn't even five seconds before the rest of the team started to approach.
"Memo's daughter has arrived!" said Santiago Giménez, raising a hand to greet you.
—Now Memo is going to be more worried about her than about us —Roberto Alvarado joked.
—That always happens —Raúl Jiménez laughed.
"What's up? How have you been?" Gilberto Mora asked with a shy smile.
—Come on, we're organizing a foosball match... although Hormiga says he's going to beat us today —added Armando González, pointing to a table in the back.
"Hey! Don't make me look bad before we even start," Ant protested amid the laughter of the group.
"Don't pay them any attention," César Huerta commented. "They've been together for five minutes and they've already started."
Memo let out a small laugh and shook his head.
—Welcome to another rally…
The dressing room felt complete again.
Your dynamics with team 2:
César Huerta (Chino)
He loves to tease her in a friendly way. If she leaves her phone or a water bottle unattended, he'll almost certainly crack a joke before returning it.
Johan Vásquez
Although he speaks less than others, he always greets her with a smile and makes sure she feels comfortable within the group.
Raúl Jiménez
He treats her with great affection and respect. He's the kind of person who asks how she's doing in her studies, her projects, or any goals she has outside of football.
Roberto Alvarado (Piojo)
He always finds a way to make her laugh. He enjoys including her in conversations and making funny comments during meals or trips.
Erik Lira
He treats her with kindness and calmness. Although he's not the most talkative, he's always polite and willing to chat.
Israel Reyes
He is respectful and friendly. He considers her part of the family that forms within the team and always greets her with a smile.
General dynamics
For the team, she's not a guest, but part of the Mexican National Team family. The players include her in meals, conversations, and jokes, and she responds with equal ease.
There's an unwritten rule in the locker room: if anyone makes Memo blush because of his daughter, laughter is guaranteed.
Your dynamics with the team:
From a young age, she accompanied her father, Guillermo Ochoa, to training camps, practices, and matches whenever possible. Over the years, many players watched her grow up, so even though she's now 18, for many she's still "Memo's daughter."
Upon arriving at a training camp, she no longer needs to introduce herself. As soon as she steps through the hotel door, there's always someone who greets her by name or cracks a joke.
Guillermo Ochoa
Her dad is also her biggest protector. Although he tries to treat her like an adult, he can't help but ask if she's eaten, if she slept well, or if she needs anything. The whole team often teases him, saying he completely changes when she's around.
Edson Alvarez
He treats her like a little sister. He's always looking out for her and often asks how she's doing. He's serious when necessary, but he also joins in on the jokes with her.
Luis Ángel Malagón
He's probably the one who tries hardest to make her laugh. Every time he sees her, he invents a new nickname or makes a funny comment. If she responds with another joke, Malagón happily accepts the challenge.
Santiago Giménez
He has a very relaxed relationship with her. They tease each other like good friends, do challenges, laugh at anything, and every now and then he tries to convince her to appear in one of his videos.
Gilberto Mora (Morita)
Being of similar ages, they connect easily. They share conversations, laughter, and end up becoming part of the same group when they all live together. He is usually very kind and respectful to her.
Armando González (Ant)
He quickly includes her in any game or joke. He always tries to get her involved when the group organizes a challenge and enjoys seeing her laugh.
Marcel Ruiz
He is calm and attentive. It's easy to talk to him because he always listens before speaking and usually gives good advice.
Memo and You Dynamics:
Since she was born, Memo has tried to ensure his daughter has as normal a life as possible, despite the attention she receives for being the daughter of one of Mexico's most renowned soccer players. He never wanted her to grow up feeling the pressure of carrying his last name; for him, it was always more important that she find her own path.
Their relationship is built on a deep trust. They talk about practically everything: from how their day went to important life decisions. Memo has always been a present, loving, and patient father. He's the first to congratulate her when she achieves something and also the first to support her when things don't go as planned.
Jokes and laughter fill their conversations. She loves teasing him by reminding him of some of his most famous hairstyles or imitating him during interviews, while Memo responds with equally funny comments. Although they both laugh constantly, a single glance is enough to tell when one of them needs to be serious.
He is very protective, but he makes sure to give her enough freedom to learn on her own. He trusts her and the values he instilled in her, although he inevitably worries when he knows she's far away or facing new situations. This concern never turns into control; he prefers to be with her, listen to her, and offer advice rather than make decisions for her.
For her, Memo isn't just a role model in Mexican soccer. He's her safe haven, the person she calls when she needs a hug, advice, or simply to hear a familiar voice. And for Memo, she will always be his greatest pride, far more important than any trophy, match, or sporting achievement.
When they're together at Mexican National Team training camps, it's common to see him asking her if she's eaten, if she slept well, or if she needs anything. The other players often joke that, as legendary as he is as a goalkeeper, to his daughter he's simply "Dad." She, for her part, doesn't miss a beat.
Locker Room Dynamics:
Although they all represent Mexico on the field, off the field they seem like a group of friends who never stop laughing. The jokes are constant, no one is completely safe, and there's always someone recording the moment to remember it later.
😂 The pranksters
Malagón, Santi, Chino, and Piojo are usually the ones who make the group laugh the most. They're always inventing challenges, making funny comments, or teasing someone. If there's silence, it's probably because they're planning their next prank.
👶 The “younger siblings”
Morita and Hormiga are among the youngest, so they receive a lot of attention from the others. The veterans and more experienced players welcome them into the group, play lighthearted pranks on them, and support them when they need it.
🛡️ The leaders
Edson is usually the one who keeps order when it's time to train or focus. Memo and Raúl complement that leadership with calm and experience, offering advice and helping to keep the group together.
🎮 Free time
When they're not training, some organize video game sessions, play cards, footvolley, or simply get together to chat at the hotel. There's always music playing on the speaker and someone proposing a silly challenge to pass the time.
🎵 The atmosphere
There's always music playing on the bus. Some people sing along even if they're off-key, others bang on the seats to the beat, and several end up laughing at whatever's going on.
📱 The impromptu content creator
Santi often takes out his phone to record spontaneous moments: celebrations, challenges, jokes, or simply the group's interaction. At first, some try to avoid the camera… but almost everyone ends up smiling.
🤝 How are they treated?
• If someone has a bad workout, the others encourage them instead of leaving them alone.
• When a new member arrives, everyone tries to make them feel part of the group from day one.
• The jokes are never meant to hurt; they are part of the trust that exists between them.
