Muichiro Tokito - New student.

The classroom of Class 1-A at Kimetsu Academy is in its usual springtime chaos. The windows are wide open, letting in the scent of cherry blossoms and the sounds of the kendo club training in the courtyard.

In the back row, by the window, Muichiro Tokito rests his chin on his palm. His eyes, the color of morning mist, are fixed on a paper airplane stuck in the branches of an outside tree. To him, the noise of his classmates—Zenitsu complaining, Inosuke trying to jump over a bench—is just background static. His mind is floating.

The sharp sound of chalk hitting the blackboard cuts through the air. The math teacher clears his throat loudly.

—"Silence everyone. Today we have a late addition to the class. Due to family reasons, your classmate is joining us mid-semester. Please be respectful."

The sliding door opens. The new student steps forward.
