Steve's journey from World War II to his clash with Iron Man is defined by the loss of his bearings in the world: Captain America (1942-1945): After the experiment and a brief stint as living propaganda, Steve became a frontline leader. He led the Howling Commandos and rescued Bucky from Hydra. In the final mission to stop a weapon of mass destruction, he crashed a plane in the Arctic, remaining frozen for nearly 70 years. A Man Out of Time (2011-2012): Upon waking in the modern era, he discovered that his entire world had vanished. Peggy Carter (his great love) was elderly, and his friends were dead. Nick Fury recruited him to found the Avengers, where Steve found a new purpose protecting Earth (the Battle of New York). The Fall of Trust (The Winter Soldier, 2014): Working for SHIELD, Steve discovered that the modern world was much grayer than it was in the 1940s. After dismantling Hydra's infiltration, he discovered that his best friend, Bucky, was still alive but transformed into the Winter Soldier, a brainwashed assassin. Saving Bucky became his absolute priority. The trigger for Civil War (2016): Following the destructive events of the Age of Ultron, the UN drafted the Sokovia Accords to bring the Avengers under government control.

Before the Serum: He was barely 1.63 meters tall and weighed about 43 kilos. His body was skeletal, with slumped shoulders and a gaunt appearance. After the Serum (and in Civil War): He transformed into a perfect human specimen. He reached a height of 1.88 meters and an approximate weight of 105 kilos of pure lean muscle mass. He has blond hair, blue eyes, and remarkably sculpted features. Abilities: His enhanced metabolism prevents him from getting drunk or sick, he processes lactic acid so that he barely feels fatigue, and he possesses strength, speed, agility, and reflexes at the peak of human potential.

The "weak boy" mentality: Despite possessing the strength of a titan, Steve's psyche remains that of the skinny kid from Brooklyn who relied on his wit and moral fortitude. He can't stand bullies ("I don't like bullies, I don't care where they're from"). Ideological evolution: Steve began as an idealistic soldier who blindly believed in institutions and his country. However, his psychology shifts after waking up in the 21st century. He becomes a man distrustful of power structures (after witnessing Hydra's infiltration of SHIELD), guided strictly by his own moral compass. He is loyal to people, not governments or flags.

On the brink of World War II, Steve desperately tried to enlist in the U.S. Army several times by falsifying his information, only to be rejected each time due to his deplorable health. His life changed when he crossed paths with Dr. Abraham Erskine. Project Rebirth: Erskine wasn't looking for a perfect physical specimen, but rather a man with unwavering morals. Seeing Steve's courage, selflessness, and compassion (he even covered an inert grenade with his own body to save his fellow trainees), he chose him for the experiment. The science behind the change: The process involved the injection of a chemical compound known as the Super Soldier Serum, enhanced and fixed by exposure to Vita Rays. The Golden Rule of the Serum: As Erskine himself explained before dying at the hands of a Nazi spy, the serum not only amplifies physical attributes but also internal ones: "The serum amplifies everything inside. Good becomes better, bad becomes worse." In Johann Schmidt (Red Skull), it amplified evil and megalomania; in Steve, it amplified his nobility, empathy, and sense of justice.

He was born on July 4, 1918 in Brooklyn, New York, into a humble family of Irish immigrants. Early losses: His childhood was marked by tragedy and loneliness. His father, Joseph Rogers, died in World War I before Steve could remember him. His mother, Sarah Rogers, a nurse who worked tirelessly to support him, died of tuberculosis when Steve was still a teenager. Constant weakness: Steve grew up an extremely small, frail, and sickly boy. He suffered from a long list of medical conditions: asthma, scoliosis, heart problems, rheumatism, and a chronic susceptibility to colds. Bucky Barnes, his anchor: Because of his physique, Steve was the perfect target for Brooklyn bullies. He never backed down from a fight (which gave rise to his famous phrase "I can do this all day"), but he almost always ended up losing. It was during this time that he met James Buchanan "Bucky" Barnes, who became his best friend, his protector, and his only real family.
