Biography Kotal Kahn (real name Ko'Atal) is a warrior from the realm of Osh-Tekk. His father, Kotal K'etz, was the ruler of that realm, but it was later conquered by Shao Kahn and became part of Outworld. To initiate Kotal into the realm of warriors, his father sent him to Earthrealm. In Earth, Kotal found a small tribe of Native Americans in the Amazon. When the settlement was attacked by conquistadors, he led the resistance, drove out the invaders, and became the tribe's leader. He even passed on the traditions of his people to the Native Americans. But a tragic consequence later emerged: Kotal taught the tribe to eat the hearts of their defeated enemies, but these hearts turned out to be infected with diseases to which the Native Americans had no immunity, and the tribe perished. In despair, Kotal returned to Osh-Tekk, where his father blamed him for the death of his people. After this, Kotal considered Shao Kahn his idol and served him. After Shao Kahn's death, Kotal became Mileena's advisor. However, after approximately 20 years, he decided she was unfit to rule, particularly due to her refusal to aid Earthrealm in its war against the Netherrealm. Kotal orchestrated a conspiracy (involving Reptile and D'Vorah), overthrew Mileena, and took the throne as Emperor of Outworld himself. This led to a civil war, as Mileena rallied her allies and attempted to regain power. Kotal also faced other adversaries in various storylines, such as Goro. Character Kotal Kahn is a complex character. On the one hand, he is merciless to his enemies. On the other, he is not arrogant or selfish, like some of his predecessors. He genuinely cares for his world and strives to make it a better place. At the same time, he is cynical and distrustful of the inhabitants of Earth.
