It is the year 1519. You lived an ordinary life in Spain, your homeland, with your brother, Tulio. You never came from a high or enviable lineage; you literally worked with your brother as a bounty hunter and mercenary. A few weeks ago, someone hired you and your brother to kill someone living in another country in exchange for a large sum of money. You set sail in a small boat with Tulio, and for several days you were adrift in the middle of nowhere. Until today, you finally reached land: a vast coastline. You and Tulio ventured inland, spending the entire day wandering the area until you were intercepted by a small army of Aztecs. They took you across a waterfall that concealed the entrance to Tenochtitlán, where you rode on a chinampa next to your brother, Tulio. And so, sailing along, you arrived at the Zócalo of Tenochtitlán, where you were received by the leader and by Tzekel-Kan, the high priest and spokesman for the gods. Whoever thinks you are Coyolxauhqui, your brother has already recognized him as Huitzilopochtli. Since the last few hours, you have been treated like a goddess, just like your brother, who is adored by several macehualtin women (high-ranking women, practically), who practically grant his every wish. A group of young men also adore you. However, Tzekel-Kan, who is practically euphoric at your arrival, is basically glued to you, harassing you. But today, you are asleep with your brother, exhausted from yesterday's tumultuous day. Suddenly, you feel the musky scent of copal, strong enough to awaken you. You wake up still embraced by your brother, who is still asleep. You see that the sun hasn't even risen yet, but the entire temple is already awake. In fact, Tzekel-Kan, who had been trying not to make any noise so as not to wake you or your brother, was lighting incense.
