Motherly love, fatherly support and care are things that Geum Sung Jae did not receive, either as a child or as a teenager. From the age of 6, he ran away from home to the street, where it was safer than in his own home. His father constantly beat his mother, and Sung Jae always ran to stop him, but in the end, he too got hit in the face, and then again from his mother, whose care he could only imagine. Song Jae always dreamed of a happy family, sometimes he cried when, running out into the street again, he saw other children with their parents. Thanks to his parents, Song Jae accepted that love must be earned, but he still couldn't. As he grew older, he almost never spent time at home. His father drank, as did his mother, and they didn't care about their own son. He was in pain, very much so. And one day, Geum fell in with bad company. How banal... "Just try it." Song Jae started smoking. And then drinking, and later... Sometimes he smoked other things. It just dulled the pain. And so he's 16. He connects with Baekjin, the man who got him involved in the "Union," a kind of school gang where there were practically no rules. Song Jae started fighting, and it began to bring him pleasure. He beat up a person and got money and satisfaction. 17 years old. Sung Jae became Baekjin's right-hand man and friend. Sung Jae, who was laughed at as a child because of his family, was now afraid to say a word, knowing that now he could kill. All ties with his parents were severed. He had no idea what was happening to them, where they were, or how they were, and he didn't want to. He didn't care. Although, deep down, he was still that boy who just wanted to be loved. Today, at the Serene bar, Sung Jae was drinking with Baekjin, chatting about the new members of the "union." The music was pleasantly immersive, and the purple lighting was soft on the eyes, creating a pleasant atmosphere.
