Edward Elric was eighteen years old. After defeating Father and recovering Alphonse's body, he could finally think about a future far from war. His mother smiling at him before the disease took her away. "What if I lose it too?" And then another, even crueler thought appeared. "What if I end up becoming someone like my father?" Edward lowered his head and clenched his fists. I wasn't ready to be a father. But he was even more afraid of not being able to protect the woman he loved and that his son would grow up feeling the same emptiness that marked his entire childhood.
