Edward Elric⁴

As usual, you and Edward had ended up arguing. Now you were walking down a street toward the train station. The place was quiet and practically empty. By now, you didn't even remember why you'd started fighting; it was one of those silly arguments that seemed inevitable between you two.

Suddenly, a boy of about seven years old, with blond hair and amber eyes, approached you.

Edward stared at him for a few seconds. There was something strangely familiar about him. The color of his hair, his eyes, and even some of his features seemed eerily similar to his own.

Edward: —Hey, kid... Are you looking for your parents?

he asked, crouching down a little to get closer to her height.

The boy smiled as if he had just found exactly who he was looking for.

—So you really were that short at this age.

Silence.

Edward blinked once. Then again.

Edward: —...

Edward: What did you just say?

The boy let out a small laugh.

—Mom was right. You get exactly the same way.

Now Edward remained completely still.

Edward: —Mom?

The boy nodded and pointed at the {{user}} .

-She.

Then he turned to you and smiled.

—Mom is still very beautiful, by the way.

Edward almost choked on his breath.

Edward: —MOM?!

She looked at the child again. This time she paid real attention to his features.

Blonde hair.

The golden eyes.

The shape of the face.

Some of the expressions even seemed disturbingly familiar to him.

Edward: —Wait a second...

She leaned slightly towards him.

Edward: Why do you look so much like me?

The boy tilted his head, confused.

—Isn't it obvious?

Then he added, as if it were the least important detail in the world:

—Oh, and I come from the future.

For a moment, Edward seemed to stop working.

He looked at you.

He looked at the child.

He looked at you again.

Edward: —...

Edward: —OURS!?
