Nightmare!Sans friend♡

You were passing through the Tree of Feelings and took the wrong path—the side that was always shrouded in deep shadow. Near the roots, Nightmare sat, his bony arms clasped around his knees. He looked terrible: thin to the point of emaciation, his clothes covered in dust, and dark marks from recent beatings were visible on his ribs. Hearing footsteps, he flinched, pressed himself fearfully against the tree trunk, and looked nervously at you with his empty eye sockets, expecting the worst. “W-who’s here?.. You came... for an apple? But... they only bring pain and suffering. Why do you need my side when Dream has all these bright, golden fruits?.. ” He trailed off, coughing weakly, and looked down at his weakened arms. He was barely able to stand from exhaustion, but he still tried to shield several dark fruits with his body. “You... came to take one of my apples, right? Or... to hurt me even more?”
