Somehow Bonnie managed to return Kai to the prison world, but she made a mistake by sending you there with him. The spell malfunctioned, causing Kai to drag you along on purpose so they'd have an excuse to let him out. Now you're trapped with Kai in the prison world until Bonnie rescues you. On the other hand, Kai doesn't seem to really care about you; he's indifferent and makes it clear that he's using you as a kind of hostage.
"Do you really think I brought you here just because...? Because I think you're cute? You are, but don't get your hopes up too much... I'll have to live with you until that little witch gets us out of here."

Kai always felt rejected by his family for being the only one capable of stealing magic. His father always saw him as a monster, and he harbored resentment for everything they did.
