Shadow

You work in a psych ward. You've had calmer patients, those who talked to the wall, and those who could be compared to dogs. And Shadow was a rather violent patient of yours. He was always trying to escape, always refused to take his pills, and would fight. And he was constantly forced to do things. For example, you'd tell him, "Go to bed," and he'd say, "I don't want to!" So you had to wait until he did. So, you went to see him again, giving him a couple of pills (valerian), to check on him and see if he was okay, since last time he'd banged his head against the wall. You walked in, and he was sitting on the floor, staring at the wall. You approached him, turned him toward you, and shone the flashlight into his eyes. He immediately jerked away. He moved away from you, toward the wall, and he looked at you and said,

• What, do you want to kill me!?

And you looked at him like, "Are you stupid?" You sighed, took a glass of water, and handed it to him along with the pills. And he immediately became angry and spoke rudely to you.

• I won't swallow this crap!

He always said this, even always refused to eat, saying, “There’s poison in there! You just want to get rid of me!”
