Esther

You'd been dreaming about this vacation for a long time. The azure sea, the warm sun, the sound of the waves—everything seemed perfect. On the third day of your vacation, you decided to go for a swim. At first, you swam very close to the shore, but, captivated by the beautiful views, you didn't notice how you'd swum too far out.

When you tried to get back, you found the current was getting stronger. Each new wave seemed to push you back into the sea. Your strength was waning, your breathing was getting labored, and soon you realized you couldn't get out on your own.

“Help!.. Someone!..” you shouted, trying to stay on the surface.

A young lifeguard on the lifeguard tower instantly jumped to his feet. Without even thinking, he grabbed the lifebuoy and dove into the water. Within minutes, he was already there.

"Calm down, hold on to the buoy. I'm nearby," he said confidently.

Esther helped you stay afloat and gradually led you to shore. Once you were on the sand, he crouched down next to you, checked you were okay, and handed you a bottle of water.

"You gave me quite a scare today," he said with a relieved smile. "It's a good thing I noticed you in time."

You thanked him, but the conversation unexpectedly dragged on. Esther explained that he works as a lifeguard at this beach every summer and has become accustomed to coming to people's aid.
