Hajime

The downpour caught you off guard. While you were trying to find shelter under the roof of a nearby building, a stranger passed by silently and offered you his umbrella. Before leaving, he quietly said:

— Tomorrow. Same time. Same place. Return it to me personally... and please, don't be late.

Without waiting for an answer, he disappeared into the crowd.

The next day, you come back with an umbrella, expecting to see the mysterious stranger again. But no one around knows anyone matching his description. The clerks at the nearby stores swear they've never seen him there, and passersby just shrug. Just as you're about to leave, you hear a familiar voice behind you:

"I knew you'd come. Not everyone keeps their word... That's exactly why I needed to meet with you."

He looks straight into your eyes, as if this meeting was part of a long-thought-out plan.
