Sunrise City. Sunrise city is the royal capital of Sunset Savanna, and Leona and Ruggie's hometown. Despite being a large city, it is full of greenery due to the Sunset Savanna's committment to environmentalism. Ivory Springs Ivory Springs is a hot spring resort in Sunrise City, built on a formerly barren volcanic valley.

Sunset Savanna is a large country full of nature where animals live freely and in origin the hyenas had their own territory called the Shadowland, where they lived by their own rules.[32] It contains a wide range of climates, though it is mostly wild savanna.[33] Due to most of the citizens being beastmen, and descended from animals, environmentalism and living in balance with nature is an important part of the culture. Bringing them all together is a difficult task for the royal family, since some dwell in their own small settlements within Sunset Savanna, but many differents kinds of beastfolk have their own customs and culture.[33]

Sunset Savanna has a royal monarchy and is composed by lion beastfolk. Since the king's illness has left him bedridden for a couple of years, the Crown Prince Falena, Leona's older brother, has been managing the country's affairs now. Women in the Sunset Savanna are well respected[34] and are usually strong, filling in roles such as royal guards.[35] The country has a rich history in textile production, including embroidery, dying, and weaving.[36][37][33]

Cloudcalling Festival is a yearly festival celebrating the start of the rainy season in Afterglow Savanna. The festival includes the Bead Brawl, a competitive wrestling tournament. Bead Brawl winners are allowed to become part of the royal guards, also known as the Sunset Warriors, regardless of citizenship.[38]

There's a plant called floral cacao that only bears fruit once every ten years and is said to have a rich chocolate and subtle floral flavor.[29] Warthogs are a local mascot for children, usually paired with a meerkat.

Savanaclaw is a dorm located in a deserted area alongside a Spelldrive stadium. Most of its students are natural athletes who play sports or practice martial arts.

Kings, hyenas—everyone is my friend! Laugh With Me! Ruggie Bucchi Ruggie's signature spell is called "Laugh With Me!" and it allows him to control the movements of others by forcing them to mimic his own movements.[6] It's possible to use this spell on multiple people at once.

Ruggie is a laid-back, yet cunning person who always works to earn his keep. He’s willing to do whatever it takes to succeed, even if it means blatantly deceiving others, or currying favour with his housewarden, Leona. He can be very resourceful and quick to adapt to whatever life throws at him.

At school, Ruggie mainly looks out for himself, and only makes an effort to help his classmates when he knows he’ll get something out of it, whether it be money, food, or anything else of value. But his own well-being isn’t the only thing he cares about; he also makes it a point to support his community back home.[3] His poor upbringing has made him quite versatile, as he’s learned a number of practical skills necessary for survival, like cooking, cleaning, and good work ethic. He also learned to be streetwise, as he claims to know his way through just about any situation, without the need for magic. Consequently, Ruggie is also a talented pickpocket.

In general, Ruggie values his own hard work and self-sufficiency. As a result, it can be hard for him to trust people on a personal level. He usually assumes that anyone doing him a favour just wants something in return, similar to his own mindset. However, he’s more than willing to strike mutually-beneficial deals with just about anyone, as long as the compensation is great enough.

Ruggie grew up in the slums of the area he lives in.[3] His mother passed away when Ruggie was born, and his father left to make money but he never came back, and Ruggie doesn't know his whereabouts. Instead, Ruggie was raised by his grandmother, whom Ruggie seems to care a lot about. He mentions that his grandmother used to make him donuts for his birthday every year.

Ruggie is a light-skinned boy of average height. He has short, fluffy hair that flips up at the ends, with mid-length, messy bangs. His hair is mostly sandy-blonde, but a darker blonde colour fades in from the top of his head. He has short, thicker-than-average eyebrows, bluish-gray eyes, and a subtle dark colouring underneath his eyes.

Instead of human ears, Ruggie has large, brown hyena ears on the top of his head. This is paired with a short hyena tail of the same colour. Small, sharp fangs are usually seen when his mouth is open. He is usually shown brandishing a mischievous smile. Ruggie’s uniform is similar to the rest of the Savanaclaw students. It consists of a dark-yellow t-shirt, a black leather vest, worn-out blue jeans, thick beaded jewellery, and an orange-yellow bandana with black patterning and the symbol of Savanaclaw printed on it.

The shirt has a deep y-neck, and a black, geometric pattern on the trim. Unlike a majority of Savanaclaw students, Ruggie’s shirt is not sleeveless, and is instead a large, short-sleeved t-shirt. He wears his shirt over the jeans, covering his waist. The leather vest has a design reminiscent of a “double-rider” biker jacket, with silver buttons and zippers. The jeans are a cool gray with visible creases. Over his jeans are black leather biker boots. He also wears one black, leather driving glove on his right hand.

While most Savanaclaw students wear their orange-yellow bandana around their waist, Ruggie chooses to wrap it around his neck like a scarf.

The uniform includes a variety of jewellery, made up of thick beads that are gold, red, blue, and green. Ruggie wears two low-hanging necklaces with this pattern of beads, but they are mostly covered by his vest and bandana.

Woods Behind Campus: A dense forest that seems to grow not only apple trees, but also chestnuts. Students can use this land for harvesting. Ramshackle Dorm: An ancient, abandoned dormitory located within the school's vicinity, currently housing MC and Grim. Ghosts have been living inside the building too, prior to MC's arrival. Although its origins are unknown, the facility have been renovated thanks to some of the students' donations. Mister S's Mystery Shop: Mister S's Mystery Shop is run by Sam. Teachers and students visit the shop to buy snacks or unique items. Sometimes Sam offers special deals, in particular for Octavinelle and Idia. According to Crowley, the teachers get a faculty discount. Lesser-known locations include a chicken coop and a small plot of land with rice paddies, water channels, and a windmill; much like the Botanical Garden, these grounds are seemingly cultivated to secure steady food supplies for the academy.

History Founding Established more than five centuries ago by the human mages of the age, Night Raven College now holds prestige across Twisted Wonderland, alongside its historic sports rival, the Royal Sword Academy. For 99 consecutive years, the latter has reigned as the undisputed champion, consistently defeating Night Raven College in the the annual Inter-School Spelldrive Tournament.

According to an ancient legend, roughly two millennia ago, a great mage dwelt upon the Isle of Sages alongside an apprentice gifted with mighty magic. One day, the apprentice lost control of their powers, but their master, rather than exiling them, admonished them and continued to teach them. To this day, the academies of the Isle of Sages honor this legacy, embracing all who seek redemption and wish to learn from their missteps.

Classrooms: Classrooms accommodate approximately 20 to 30 students. Each student has a specific identification number and classroom sectioning. Ace mentions that first-years rarely ever bump into the third-years. However, some classes can have combined lessons.[11] Laboratory: The laboratory facility is used for Potions classes, but also serves as the Science Club's room for its extracurricular activities. On occasion, students within the same academic year but enrolled in different classes attend combined sessions in this place.[12] Courtyard: Students tend to use the courtyard during their breaks. Practicing magic here is strictly forbidden, as it poses a risk of striking a passersby. Side Street: Connected to the Coliseum and main street. It's usually used for various school festivals. Coliseum: The Coliseum is used for Spelldrive matches and magic exams. It has a barrier to prevent any damage from spreading to the rest of the campus. It's also used for large events such as the Song & Dance Championship. The maintenance and oversight of events hosted within the Coliseum are designated to the sports and arts clubs on a rotational basis. Professionals handle a few specific tasks. However, because the cultural festival is a school event, the students are expected to organize everything themselves.[13][14] Stables: The stables hold horses for the Equestrian Club. The club is also responsible for cleaning the stables.[15]

Main Street: The main street branches off in various directions, but its main path connects to the main building, the Library and the Hall of Mirrors. The statues of the Great Seven line the main street from each side. Library: It has existed since Night Raven College was founded and holds many rare and unique books. Some volumes cost tens of thousands of madols each. It also contains many books from Crowley's priceless collection, which he collected while traveling around the world. Students can not only visit to consult or borrow books to supplement their studies (or out of personal interest), but also hold group or solo study sessions. Hall of Mirrors: Each of the seven dormitories is situated within an individual pocket dimension, accessible via seven designated mirror entryways. The Hall of Mirrors houses these mirrors. Gymnasium and Sports Field: Used for PE Classes and by the Sport Clubs. Located in proximity to the front gate, the Gymnasium is connected to main street, whereas the Sports field is positioned to the rear of this facility and links to side street. Front Gate: The entrance gates of Night Raven College are located a short distance from the bus stop and the Gymnasium. The gates are opened on the first day of class, and black horse-drawn carriages bring the students to the castle. The entrance gates are made of magnificent wrought iron and are flanked by two columns topped with statues of ravens holding a key in their beaks. Botanical Garden: The botanical garden is open to all students to use for growing plants for both potionology classes and personal projects.

Main Building: The castle is the main building of Night Raven College. It has multiple floors and contains the majority of the classrooms. Mirror Chamber: The Mirror Chamber hosts numerous functions and events, such as the entrance ceremony or the housewarden meetings and other school assemblies. It also houses the Dark Mirror. Although protected by a magical barrier, the fairies seem to know how to bypass the room's defenses. Cafeteria: A a large hall used by students and school staff during meal periods. It has grand fireplace that functions via fairies, and an ancient magical chandelier that hangs from the ceiling, enchanted to burn for eternity. Office of Headmage: Located in the highest part of the castle, almost detached from the main building. It has portraits of the Great Seven suspended in mid-air above the desk of the headmage. In this room, Crowley enrolled Grim and MC as a single student. School Infirmary: Students sustaining injuries during the academic year are directed or escorted to the infirmary for medical care. While the infirmary is equipped to treat a wide range of injuries, severe cases must be transferred to Foothill Town hospital for advanced medical care.

Night Raven College, often shortened to NRC, is an all-boys academy and the main setting of Twisted Wonderland. It is a four-year magic educational institution located on top of a mountain on the north side of the Isle of Sages.

The school has a protective spell around its area to protect it from unauthorized visitors and threats. Important places like the Library and the Mirror Chamber are fortified by individual spells.

Description Based on an island near the Land of Dawning, Night Raven College's main building is a castle that's located on top of a hill. Various outbuildings are scattered across the school grounds, such as the Spelldrive Coliseum or the Botanical garden. It also features lawns, forested areas, and a small river with a waterfall. The statues of the The Great Seven line main street since the foundation of the school. Any act of vandalism against the statues result in punishment.

Ruggie is a hybrid of Beastman (on his father's side) and Cyborg(on his mother's side). Since childhood, he has been listening to stories about Cyborgs, huge megacities and high technology without using mana, including about his mother's family, which the boy simply adores. Since childhood, he had dreamed of meeting his relatives on his mother's side and visiting her homeland, even if there were no references to Cyborgs or where they lived in the magical archives.
